Today I have a fun card featuring the Ornate Floral Die from Pinkfresh Studio. I will be ink blending the die cut then popping up the petals of each flower. For my ink blending, I will be using regular Distress Inks. Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I use my Ornate Floral Die and cut out of Neenah White Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. Keeping the die cut pieces intact, I place Purple Tape over the back side to hold everything in place.

I take my Blender Brushes and start by blending Mustard Seed Distress Ink to the center of each flower. Next, I blend Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to each petal, keeping the ink darker at the base and fading out towards the end of the petals. For the leaves, I blend Twisted Citron Distress Ink, again blending darker at the base then fading out.

After my blending is complete, I remove the frame of the die cut leaving all of the inside pieces still adhered to the tape.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhere the die cut frame onto a white card base.

Using Foam Circles, I pop up each petal on all of the flowers.

For the leaves, I inlay using Liquid Glue.

To break up the color a bit and to add some texture, I spritz clean water onto my panel using my Distress Sprayer. I then laid a paper towel over the panel and pressed to soak up the droplets.

Taking a scrap of white cardstock, I blend Twisted Citron Distress Ink to match my leaves. I then place into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and stamp a sentiment from the Sentiment Strips 2 Stamp Set using Versafine Clair Nocturn Ink.

Next, I take a die from the Sentiment Banners Die Set and cut out my sentiment, running them through my Big Shot.

I cut off the left side of my sentiment banner and mount it onto my card front using Foam Circles and this completes my card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. I love the versatility of this die. Popping the petals up using foam tape not only gives dimension but also makes the flowers stand out. In hindsight, I would have used lighter ink colors, giving more of a soft, subtle look. I may have to make another!!

If this is the first time visiting my blog, welcome and I hope you return. If you are a returning visitor, thank you so much for your support!

I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
