For today's card, I will be using stamps, dies, inks and cardstock, all from Gina K. Designs. I love Gina's products, especially her coordinating inks and cardstock. Don't forget to mark your calendars and set a reminder for Wednesday, June 10th at 7:00 pm (CST) when Gina K. Designs will be going live with their new release! I'm looking forward to seeing what she has in store for all of us! On today's card I will be using the Elegant Script background stamp for some tone on tone stamping and will also use a stamp set with coordinating dies. To color my stamped images, I will be using Gina's inks for simple water coloring. Let's get started!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I place a piece of Watercolor Cardstock (also found at Walmart) into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and prep it with my Anti Static Powder Bag. Next, I take the outline flower images from the Hugs And Wildflowers Stamp Set and stamp them using Versamark Embossing Ink. I then add Detail Silver Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool.

Using the white area of my Glass Mat, I press some of my ink cubes onto it, I will be using this as my palette. I will be using two Water Brushes filled with clean water, one for wetting and blending, the other for adding ink to the images. Taking my first water brush, I start by wetting my first petal, then with my second water brush, I pick up some Innocent Pink Ink from my palette and add it to the base of the petal. I then take my first water brush and blend the color out about 3/4 of the way towards the end of the petal. I repeat this process with the rest of the petals on this flower, and all of the other flowers. *I use a paper towel to remove color from the water brush and also to remove water if the brush becomes too wet.

For my next layer of color, I add Dusty Rose Ink to the base of a petal then take my water brush to pull and blend the color about half way to the end of the petal. I repeat this process for each remaining petal as well as the rest of the flowers.

For my last color, I add Passionate Pink Ink to the base of the petal and blend, this time keeping the color concentrated around the center of each flower. I repeat this process for the rest of the flowers and this completes my coloring. Next, I take the coordinating dies from the Hugs And Flowers Die Set, line up over the images and hold in place using Purple Tape and run through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine.

For the stem of the flowers, I want to do a light color wash so the die cut outline isn't stark white. I take a piece of watercolor cardstock and wet it using my water brush. I then pick up Jelly Bean Green Ink and brush over the panel. Next, I add some Fresh Asparagus Ink and again, brush over the panel. I dry it quick using my Craft Tool

I now place the panel into my MISTI and prep using my Anti Static Powder Bag. I stamp the stem image using Versamark Embossing Ink, add Detail Silver Embossing Powder then heat set with my Heat ToolNext, I line up the coordinating die from the Hugs And Flowers Die Set, hold down with Purple Tape and run through my Big Shot.

Next, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel out of Kraft Cardstock using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer. I layout my greeting and offset the panel over my card base so I can get an idea of my stamping position. I then place the panel into my MISTI and stamp it using the Elegant Script Background Stamp with Kraft Ink.

I reposition over my card base, hold into place and flip them both over. I then trace the back of my stamped panel with a pencil and trim down using my paper trimmer. Using my Blender Brush, I blend Kraft Ink around the edges and corners. To darken just a little more, I blend Warm Cocoa Ink, then finish with Charcoal Brown Ink just around the very edges.

I place an Innocent Pink Cardstock card base into my MISTI and place the stamped panel over it so I can line up the greeting from the Hugs And Flowers Stamp Set. I remove the panel, then stamp the greeting using Obsidian Amalgam Ink. Next, I take the small sentiment from the same set and stamp it just above the greeting. Finally, I adhere the inked panel onto the Innocent Pink Cardstock card base using Terrific Tape.

I decided I wanted to add another sentiment to my card, so I place a thin strip of Kraft Cardstock into my MISTI and stamp a sentiment from the same stamp set using Obsidian Amalgam Ink. I then trim down the edges at a slant.

I use Liquid Glue and adhere the stem onto the card front. Next, it's time to assemble my water colored images. For all of the flowers, I add Foam Circles to the backs and mount them onto the stem. I glue a couple of scrap cardstock strips to the back of the sentiment then glue under the greeting and this completes my card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. I love the look of kraft cardstock against color, especially pastel colors. The water coloring on this card was very simple as the images are more flat without much dimension. You could give the images more of a dimensional look by adding more shading, but I thought this simple coloring worked well.

I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

3D Peony Bundle Embossing Folder W/Oxide Inks

Hello, welcome to my blog!!  I want to start out by thanking everyone for the support and nice comments you all leave for me. I truly appreciate the support of this blog!! I enjoy card making and bringing my creations to you, this wouldn't be possible without your support, so again, thank you!! I'm back!!! For those of you that don't know, I took a couple of weeks off to spend some time with my brand new grand babies!! We were blessed with two more grandsons (who are cousins, their dads are brothers!) that were born only two days apart! We now have three grandsons and one granddaughter and feel so blessed!! Today I am using Distress Oxide inks to watercolor a 3D embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp. I was blown away by the detail of this embossing folder and knew right away that I wanted to watercolor something soft. Having all of these raised areas to color made watercoloring so simple and really took little effort. With all of the dimension of the 3D effect it is easy
