Cape Cod Resilience Fund Part 1

Hello, welcome to my blog!!

I want to start out by thanking everyone for the support and nice comments you all leave for me. I truly appreciate the support of this blog!! I enjoy card making and bringing my creations to you, this wouldn't be possible without your support, so again, thank you!!!

Today, I'm doing something a little different on my blog. I'm taking part in a fundraiser to help Jenn Shurkus raise money for small businesses in the Cape Cod area who have been affected by Covid-19.

Jenn Shurkus lives on Cape Cod and is raising money for the Cape Cod Resilience Fund. This fund will help small businesses on Cape Cod who are experiencing financial difficulties due to Covid-19. This fund will be around for the long run, and continue to help small businesses out in the future.
YOU can help by purchasing one of Jenn's exclusive Cape Cod stamp sets. For each set sold between Jun 5th - July 1st, $10 will be donated to the CCRF. Another way you can help? Share this with your creative friends and help spread the word!
More details can be found on Jenn's site here: https://shurk.us/CCRF

This is a fun stamp set that isn't just for Cape Cod themed cards. This set includes many stamps that could be used for beach, nautical, summer, masculine or even vacation themed cards! I had a lot of fun coming up with ideas to use with this set. My favorite stamp in this set is the Adirondack chairs, as I'm sure you can tell, I used it for three of my six cards! Because I will be sharing six cards, I am going to try and simplify things a bit with my descriptions and break my post into two days (Wednesday & Thursday). I think breaking the cards into two posts will be easier for everyone to read through without getting overwhelmed. If  I leave anything out or you have any questions about the cards, leave a comment below and I will be sure to answer them for you. I hope you will consider purchasing this stamp set for yourself, it really is a fun, versatile set and you will also be helping others. You can find more inspiration for this stamp set by checking out Shurkusstamps on Instagram or Jenn Shurkus on Facebook
Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

For my first card, I take a die from my Infinity Circles Die Set and a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock then run them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. Using my MISTI Stamp Positioner, I stamp my image from the Cape Cod Clear Stamp Set and stamp using Amalgam Obsidian Ink. Next, I do some simple coloring using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and blend using a Water Brush filled with clean water. Next, I use the next size up die from the Infinity Circles Die Set and cut out of Paper Bag Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot. I then adhere the two circles together using Double Sided Tape.

Using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer I cut a 3 3/4" x 5" panel out of Mermaid Cardstock and place it into my Sunburst Embossing Folder running them through my Big Shot then mount onto a 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" panel of Paper Bag Cardstock using Double Sided Tape. I then cut a piece of Double Sided Adhesive Foam and adhere to the back of my embossed panel and mount onto a white card base.

I now take my circle die cut image and adhere to the card front. I take a strip of Sandy Beach cardstock and stamp a sentiment from the Cape Cod Clear Stamp Set using Versafine Clair Nocturn Ink. I then stamp a set of footprints with the footprint stamp on each end of the strip using Sandy Beach ink. To finish I mount the strip over the lower portion of the die cut circle image using Foam Tape and this completes my first card.

For my second card, I take my Color Block Diagonal Stripes Die and run through my Big Shot with Neenah White Cardstock. Using Liquid Glue I adhere the stripes onto a white card base. *I do adhere all of the stripes onto the card base. Looks like I didn't get a picture of all of the pieces adhered, sorry!

Taking a piece of Neenah White Cardstock, I place a piece of Purple Tape across the center of my panel. Using Blender Brushes, and my cloud stencil, I blend Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and Speckled Egg Distress Ink alternating between each layer. I then remove the tape and place back over the panel lining up at the edge of the cloud blend. Next, I blend Scattered Straw Distress Ink to create a sandy beach and remove the tape.

Next, I take a die from the Infinity Rectangle Die Set and cut my blended panel, running them through my Big Shot. The panel is now approximately 2 3/4" x 3 3/4". I place the panel into my MISTI and stamp a greeting from the Cape Cod Clear Stamp Set using Versafine Clair Nocturn Ink onto the lower right side of my blended panel.

Next, I cut four 1/2" strips out of Soft Stone Cardstock and place them into my Lumber 3D Embossing Folder and run it through my Big Shot. I then take Weathered Wood Distress Ink and drag the pad down the strips to add color over the raised areas.

Using Double Sided Adhesive I adhere the strips onto the edges of my blended panel creating a frame and trim the ends. I then place the framed panel into my MISTI and stamp just the pole of the umbrella stamp from the same stamp set and stamp at an angle just to the left of the greeting Using Versafine Clair Nocturn Ink.

For added detail, I add a small brad from my stash to each corner of the frame where the strips overlap. I then add Foam Tape to the back of my framed image and mount to the center of my card. I stamp the umbrella image from the Cape Cod Clear Stamp Set onto Bristol Smooth Cardstock using Amalgam Obsidian Ink, and use my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color the image and blend with a Water Brush. I fussy cut the top of the umbrella using my Razor Edge Shears and add Foam Tape to the back of it and mount over the stamped pole, hanging over the edge of the wood frame and this completes my second card.

For my third card, I use a die from the Stitched Banner 2 Large Dies and cut out of Neenah White Cardstock running them through my Big Shot. Next, I place the banner die cut into my MISTI and stamp an image from the Cape Cod Clear Stamp Set using Amalgam Obsidian Ink. I also stamp a sentiment from the same stamp set just below my image.

Using my Copic markers, I color my image then stamp only the pole of the umbrella from the same stamp set using Amalgam Obsidian Ink.

Taking the next bigger banner die from the same set, I cut out of Coral Reef Cardstock running them through my Big Shot and adhere the two banners together using Double Sided Tape. I trim off the top of the banners using my Guillotine Paper Trimmer and mount onto the top center edge of a Turquoise Sea card base.

I stamp the umbrella image from the same stamp set and color using my Copic Markers. I then fussy cut the top of the umbrella using my Razor Edge Shears, add Foam Tape and adhere over the stamped pole and this completes my third card.

I hope you enjoyed today's cards and learned how easy it is to create with this set. Whether you live on a beach or lake, or just wish you were relaxing by the water... this is the perfect stamp set for creating cards to send to your beach loving friends! Come back tomorrow for more inspiration when I create three more cards with this set!

Check often as the sales will be frequently changing. I have placed a store logo on the front page of my blog just down below my profile that brings you directly to their store!    *I know die cut machines can be a bigger investment, but if you are in need of one and looking for a good price, Scrapbook.com has some really good prices on Big Shots -  stand alone  machines and bundles.   Today's card project is similar to yesterday's blog post using the shadow stamping technique, but today, I will be using a stencil. I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
