For today's card project, I will show you how to stamp with color on dark cardstock. This technique gives a soft but colorful result. By first stamping with white pigment ink it gives a white base for colored ink to show up. This works on any colored cardstock and gives beautiful results! I will again be using a floral set from Altenew that I used yesterday to watercolor. Today, I will be using the layered stamps for my technique. This is one of my favorite stamp sets and I like to show the versatility this set gives. I will be using Gina K. Designs dye inks for all of my colors as well as cardstock. The greeting is also from Gina K. Designs, it is a free incentive stamp set when you spend $75.00 or more at Gina K. Designs. It will be available for purchase on June 10th, when a new set is released.
Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel out of Slate Cardstock using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer. I then take the largest die from my Stitched Rectangle Die Set and run them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I like adding stitching to my panel for a finished look.

Next, I place my panel into my MISTI Stamp Positioner to do my stamping. I then take the large solid floral image from the Fabulous Florets Stamp Set and stamp it onto the panel using White Pigment Ink. I then take the smaller floral image as well as the two different leaves and stamp them. I continue stamping the images until my panel is filled. *I clean the pigment ink off each stamp before stamping another area using a damp rag.

Before moving on to the colored inks, I dry the pigment stamped images using my Ranger Craft Tool. Next, I take the same stamp, line it up over the bigger white stamped flower and stamp using Ocean Mist Ink.

For the smaller flower, I line up the stamp over the white stamped image and stamp using Bubble Gum Pink Ink.

I now take the detail stamp for the smaller flower and line up and stamp using Passionate Pink Ink.

For the bigger flower, I line up the detailed stamp for that image and stamp using Blue Lagoon Ink. I then line up the solid leaf images and stamp using Jelly Bean Green Ink. To finish the leaves, I line up and stamp the detailed images using Fresh Asparagus Ink.

To finish up my stamping, I line up each outline image and stamp using Slate Ink. This really makes the images come to life. There are small center stamps for the centers, but I did not use them as I liked the way they looked. Not all of my images lined up exactly, this is mostly due to the order I stamped my images. To get better alignment, you would first stamp the outline image followed by the solid then detailed image. I wanted my outline stamped last for a darker, crisper image. I think the offset on some of the images looks good, gives it more of a handmade look!

Using Double Sided Tape, I adhere my panel onto a Ocean Mist Cardstock card base.

For my greeting, I place a scrap piece of Slate Cardstock into my MISTI and prep using my Anti Static Powder Bag. I choose a stamp from the Fancy Greetings Stamp Set using Versamark Embossing Ink. I then add Detail White Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool. *This stamp set is only available as an incentive set right now at Gina K. Designs. Beginning June 10th it can be purchased.

I cut out my greeting using the small die from the Single Stitched Circles Die Set. I then take a larger die from my Infinity Circles Die Set and cut out of Ocean Mist Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I then adhere to two together.

To finish my card, I add Foam Tape to the back of the greeting and mount it onto the front of my card.

I love the look of colored ink on dark cardstock. Putting down a layer of white pigment ink first creates a base that allows colors to show that wouldn't normally show up on dark cardstock. I think a burgundy cardstock with pink tones, or a deep purple with lavender tones, or even a dark brown with beige tones would all be beautiful!!

I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
