Two For One!

Hello, welcome to my blog!!

Happy Friday! I hope everyone is safe and doing okay with everything going on. We are doing well here and pray that things can get back to normal soon.

For today's card project, I wanted to create a clean and simple card with some bright, cheerful colors. I decided to not let the negative die cut pieces go to waste, so I created a bonus card! I will be using regular Distress Inks to do ink blending with my blender brushes. Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel out of Neenah White Cardstock using my Tim Holtz Paper Trimmer. To create a rainbow ink blend, I will be using four ink pads to create six colors. Using my Blender Brushes, I start with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and blend at the top right corner of my panel, fading out a bit to blend my next color. Next, I use Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink, this time blending a wider band as this color will be used to create two additional colors. I blend back into the previous color to create an orange blend. Next, I blend Salty Ocean Distress Ink, blending back into the previous color to create a green blend, I then fade out a bit to blend my next color. Finally, I end with Wilted Violet Distress Ink, blending back into the previous color. This completes my ink blending.

Next, I take another 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel of Neenah White Cardstock and cut out using my Mixed Media 2 Die, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. Before finishing this card, I use the die cut panel as a template for my next card. I place the panel over a 4 1/4" x 5" panel of Peacock Cardstock. Using the die cut panel as a template, I start gluing all of the pieces back into their openings using Liquid Glue. After all of the pieces are glued into place, I carefully remove the die cut panel.

I now adhere my panel onto a white card base using Double Sided Tape, centering so there is a white edge on top and bottom. Next, I choose a sentiment from Script Greetings. Next, I prep a piece of  Black Cardstock with my Anti Static Powder Bag then stamp my sentiment using Versamark Ink. I then add Detail White Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool. Using my Sentiment Banners Die, I cut out my sentiment running it through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I then adhere to the front of the card using Foam Tape. This completes the card.

Back to my first card... I adhere the die cut panel onto my blended panel using Liquid Glue. I then adhere onto a white card base.

For my greeting, I use the die from Love Die And Stamp Set cut out of white cardstock two times running through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I then blend Picked Raspberry Distress Ink onto a scrap of white cardstock then cut out with the same die. Next, I stack and glue the three dies together with the pink on top using Liquid Glue. I choose a sentiment from the same set and stamp onto white cardstock using Versafine Clair Nocturn ink then trim into a strip and angle cut the two ends. I adhere the strip onto the Love die cut and adhere to the front of my card using Liquid Glue. This completes the card.

This finishes up today's two cards. I love using dies that you can use both the negative and positive parts of the die cut, giving you two cards. Though the teal colored card took a little more time inlaying all of the pieces, I find it to be very relaxing and therapeutic! If you enjoy putting puzzles together, this is the technique for you!!

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
