Hello and welcome to my blog!!
Scrapbook.com is celebrating National Craft Month and now through Monday, March 16th, you can save up to 50% off Stamps, Stamping Accessories and Stencils!! Every couple of days they will be offering free items along with great sales! Check often as the sales will be frequently changing. I have placed a store logo on the front page of my blog just down below my profile that brings you directly to their store!
***Re-Design, Rina K, Gina K, Lawn Fawn, My Sweet Petunia (MISTI), and Scrapbook.com 'Handmade Essentials' Stamp Set (SKU sbc-ds19-7) are excluded from all discounts and promotions.
*I know die cut machines can be a bigger investment, but if you are in need of one and looking for a good price, Scrapbook.com has some really good prices on Big Shots - stand alone machines and bundles.
Today's card project involves simple ink blending along with heat embossing. I have a touch of spring fever so I thought I would use some bright, spring filled colors for today's card! I will be using Gina K. Designs stamps, ink and cardstock. Gina has lots of wonderful products, her stamps are high quality and her inks and cardstock match beautifully, she even has matching envelopes! Today's card is quick and easy and could be used for any occasion. Let's get started!!
I start by cutting a 4" x 5 1/4" panel out of White Heavy Base cardstock. Using my Blender Brushes, I take Lemon Drop Ink and blend around the inside edges and corners of the panel, fading out to white on all edges. Next, I take Wild Dandelion Ink and blend around and into the previous color. I go back through both colors, blending into each other.
I prep my inked panel with Anti Static Powder then place into my MISTI stamp positioner. Using the Petite Flourish Background Stamp, I ink it up with Embossing And Watermark Ink. Next, I add Detail White Embossing Powder then heat set with my Heat Tool. I then mount my embossed panel using Terrific Tape onto a Wild Dandelion top folding card base.
I now take my Infinity Rectangle Dies and choose a rectangle for my image and with white cardstock, run it through my Big Shot die cut machine. I blend Jelly Bean Green Ink onto the bottom portion of the panel, fading out a big toward the center. Next, I blend Sea Glass Ink onto the top portion of the panel, blending down toward the center, fading into the previous color.
I now stamp my image and sentiment from Bitty Blossoms Stamp Set onto the small blended panel using Amalgam Ink then mount onto the center of my embossed panel.
Taking the same rectangle die that I created my image panel with, I choose the next size up, center them evenly together then add Purple Tape to the backs to hold them together. I then take Wild Dandelion Cardstock and run them through my Big Shot two times. Next, I stack and glue them together using Connect Liquid Glue. I now have a frame for my image panel.
Finally, I add Connect Liquid Glue to the back of my frame and adhere over my image panel, pressing into place. I add Water Droplets using the same liquid glue and this completes my card.
I hope you enjoyed today's card project. Embossing not only gives texture, but also adds that extra touch to a plain card. What I like about lined image stamps, is that you have the option to color with your favorite coloring medium, or you can stamp the image in black ink over colored backgrounds like I did with this card. Another option is to stamp onto colored cardstock with the same color ink, or Versamark Ink for a tone on tone background. Lined images are not just for coloring!
If this is the first time visiting my blog, welcome and I hope you return. If you are a returning visitor, thank you so much for your support!
Should you have any questions or comments please leave them in the comments section. I'd love to hear from you and what you thought about today's card.
