Today's card project was done with a little bit of trial and error. I had an idea in my head, but had to shift gears a couple different times. In the end, I am very happy with the way it turned out! I wanted a soft, subtle look and was finally able to achieve the image I had in my mind. I will be doing just a little bit of ink blending to give a little bit of shading with regular Distress Inks. I am again using the Pinkfresh Studio's Frame Builder Botanical Oval dies. I just love these, they are so versatile and can be used in so many different ways! Today I will be layering tulle in between the dies for a soft, unique look. Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat. To start, I cut a 4" x 5 1/4" panel out of Apricot Cardstock using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer. Using my Blender Brushes, I take Tattered Rose Distress Ink and blend around the edges and corners of the panel, fading out toward the center. I decided I wanted more color definition with my blending, so I add Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and blend to just the very edges and corners.

Next, I place the panel into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and choose a sentiment from the Everyday Greetings Stamp Set. I ink and stamp the sentiment onto the center of the panel using Versafine Clair Nocturn ink. I then mount my panel onto a Vanilla Malt Cardstock top folding card base using Double Sided Tape.

I now take one of  the dies from my Frame Builder Botanical Oval Die set along with Vanilla Malt Cardstock and run through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine, cutting out a total of six die cuts.
I cut a piece of tulle from my stash big enough to hold the oval frame. Using Liquid Glue, I adhere one of the dies to the tulle. I again add liquid glue and add the second die forming an oval. Once the oval is created, I stack and glue a die on top of each end of the oval. To finish, I secure the tulle by gluing the remaining two dies to the underside of the oval dies, sandwiching the tulle in between. ***To prevent the glue from sticking to the work surface, I suggest using a piece of wax paper if not working on a non stick surface. I then use my Razor Edge Easy Action Shears to trim off the excess tulle around the oval.

Before mounting the oval onto my card, I decided to highlight the sentiment area a bit by blending a little more Tattered Rose Distress Ink around the sentiment and back into the original blending.
I wanted to add a little something to the top area of the oval. Taking a piece of Vellum, I add some Double Sided Adhesive to one side. ***This works great for adhering vellum without having glue show through. I prep the vellum with my Anti Static Powder then choose a flower and small leaf from my Perfectly Perfect Stamp Set and stamp onto the Vellum using Versamark Ink. I then add Detail White Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool. Taking a piece of Apricot Cardstock, I blend some Tattered Rose Distress Ink with a little bit of Worn Lipstick Distress Ink in the middle. I remove the release paper from the embossed flower and stick it over the top of the blended area. I also blend some Bundled Sage Distress Ink onto the cardstock, remove the release paper from the leaves and stick on top of the blended area. Next, I fussy cut the flower and three leaves using my Razor Edge Easy Action ShearsI then arrange and glue the leaves just behind the flower.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhere my tulle oval frame onto the front of the card. I then add Foam Circles onto the back of the flower and mount onto the top left side of the oval. I use Liquid Glue to add some Ivory Pearls and this finishes off my card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and learned something new. I like finding new ways to add in products normally not used. This would make a beautiful wedding card by changing the sentiment, I think I will keep this card in mind for just that!

Shadow Stamping With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog!! ***I wanted to let everyone know that Scrapbook.com has kicked off Freebie February!! Every couple of days they will be offering free items along with great sales! Check often as the sales will be frequently changing. I have placed a store logo on the front page of my blog just down below my profile that brings you directly to their store!    *I know die cut machines can be a bigger investment, but if you are in need of one and looking for a good price, Scrapbook.com has some really good prices on Big Shots -  stand alone  machines and bundles.   Today's card project is similar to yesterday's blog post using the shadow stamping technique, but today, I will be using a stencil. I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
