*I know die cut machines can be a bigger investment, but if you are in need of one and looking for a good price, Scrapbook.com has some really good prices on Big Shots - stand alone machines and bundles.

Today's card project is done with simple ink blending using Distress Oxide inks. I will be using the new Pinkfresh Studio Frame Builder Botanical Rectangle dies along with the Diamond Tiles background stamp. I have had my eye on these ever since they were released last month, so I am very excited to share them with you today! Let's get started!!

To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel out of Neenah White Cardstock using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer. I prep my panel using my Anti Static Powder Bag then set the panel into the lower right corner of my MISTI stamp positioner. Next, I lay the Diamond Tiles Background Stamp over my panel then pick up with the door of my MISTI. I now ink up the stamp using Versamark Ink and stamp onto my panel. I then add Detail White Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool. I start my ink blending using my Blender Brushes and blend with Spun Sugar Oxide Ink, blending around the inside edges of my panel. Next, I blend with Picked Raspberry Oxide Ink, blending in the center then fading into the previous color. I then go back with each color, blending into each other. *After completing my ink blending, I take a clean soft cloth and gently buff the white embossed areas, removing any extra ink.

I now take my Frame Builder Botanical Rectangle Dies and cut out of white cardstock two times each die using my Big Shot die cut machine. Next, using Liquid Glue, I stack and glue both sets of dies. Next, I glue the dies onto my blended panel, one at the top the other at the bottom. I then mount my panel onto a white card base.

To make a coordinating sentiment panel, I ink blend Spun Sugar Oxide Ink onto a scrap of white cardstock, and do the same with Picked Raspberry Ink. Using my Rectangle Infinity Dies, I die cut my blended scraps for my sentiment. I now place the smaller sentiment panel I created into my MISTI stamp positioner and stamp a sentiment from my Heartfelt Stamp Set using Versafine Clair Nocturn ink. I then layer and mount my stamped sentiment onto the bigger inked rectangle.

My final step is to mount my sentiment to my card front using Double Sided Adhesive Tape. To finish off my card I add Pearl Gems using Liquid Glue and this finishes off my card.

I had a lot of fun today creating a card with my new purchases! The Frame Builder Dies are very versatile. There are several different shapes including rectangle, diamond, triangle, circle and oval. Each set comes with two different dies. You can use the two different dies from the set like I did on my card, or use one of the same dies twice, giving your card different looks. I will be making cards using these dies again in the coming weeks!

Shadow Stamping With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog!! ***I wanted to let everyone know that Scrapbook.com has kicked off Freebie February!! Every couple of days they will be offering free items along with great sales! Check often as the sales will be frequently changing. I have placed a store logo on the front page of my blog just down below my profile that brings you directly to their store!    *I know die cut machines can be a bigger investment, but if you are in need of one and looking for a good price, Scrapbook.com has some really good prices on Big Shots -  stand alone  machines and bundles.   Today's card project is similar to yesterday's blog post using the shadow stamping technique, but today, I will be using a stencil. I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
