Hello, welcome to my blog!
For today's card project, I thought I would make a wedding card with a winter feel. I chose white embossing to bring in the winter/snow theme. This card would also be great for a February wedding with the varying pink tones. Almost all of today's products are from Gina K. Designs, I just love Gina's stamps, inks and products. I especially like how the inks match the coordinating cardstock perfectly.
Let's get started!!
To start, I take a 3 3/4" x 5" panel of Gina K. Designs Passionate Pink cardstock. Before embossing, I prep my panel with an Anti Static Powder Bag. Using my MISTI stamp positioner, I take Gina K. Designs Petite Flourish background stamp and ink it with Versamark embossing ink and stamp it onto my pink panel, I actually inked and stamped the image twice to get good coverage. I then use Gina K. Designs Detail White embossing powder to cover my panel. Next, I heat set with my Wagner heat tool.
Next, using Taylored Expressions Blender Brushes, I blend Gina K. Designs Passionate Pink ink and blend around all sides of the panel working my way toward the center, about 1/4 of the way in. Next, I use Edible Eggplant ink and again blend towards the center, but not as far in as the previous color.
I take Hero Arts Nesting dies and cut a circle toward the top center of my panel, using my Big Shot die cut machine.
Now, I want to make a frame for my circle window. To do this, I take the circle die I used to create my window, and the next size larger circle from the same die set. I lay them down with the backs facing up and evenly center them together, adding Purple Tape to keep them from moving. Using white cardstock, I run them through my Big Shot, leaving me with a circle frame.
To give my circle frame a more finished look, I emboss it using Versamark ink and Detail White embossing powder. I emboss it several times until I am happy with the look. After my final embossing, I set it aside to cool completely and set before handling it.
Before gluing down my circle frame, I decided I wanted my panel to be a little darker. I decided to blend a little Gina K. Designs Black Onyx ink onto the very edges of my panel, this creates more depth to the blended colors.
Next, I stamp a greeting from Gina K. Designs Scripty Love stamp set using Gina K. Designs Amalgam Jet Black ink onto a Passionate Pink piece of cardstock, I then center behind my window and adhere.
I now add my embossed circle frame to the card. Using Gina K. Designs Connect liquid glue, I lay a thin line around the circle edge and press the frame into place, keeping pressure on the frame, I set a large acrylic block on top to keep even pressure on it until the glue sets.
Next, I mount my embossed panel onto a 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" white cardstock panel, and attach to a Passionate Pink top folding card base.
To finish off my card I add Lucy's Cards Black Jewels and Lucy's Cards Pearls Soft Snowball.
I hope you found today's card project fun and interesting. This card could easily be turned into a Valentine's by choosing one of the other greetings from this stamp set. I love the fun, scripty font, but it is also elegant enough for more formal occasions.

Beautiful! I love the dark edge on the pink paper!
ReplyDeleteThank you Marlina! I love adding adding ink to colored cardstock. I usually add two colors and a little black. Adding just a small amount of black to the edges creates so much depth. Thank you so much for visiting my blog!
