Cling Wrap Backgrounds Part 2

Hello, welcome to my blog!

Today's post is a continuation from yesterday's post where I made the Cling Wrap backgrounds and one card. Today, I show you 5 more simple cards that I made with those backgrounds along with the products for each.

Let's get started!!

My first card, I cut my inked panel to 3 1/2" x 4 3/4", and layered onto a Taylored Expressions Oreo panel measuring 3 3/4" x 5" then mounting onto a Gina K. Designs Ocean Mist card base. I then cut three times out of Oreo cardstock using Pinkfresh Studio Floral Squares die set, running them through my Big Shot die cut machine. I use Gina K. Designs Connect liquid glue to glue the three die cuts together, I then set an acrylic block on top to hold them together as the glue sets. Next, using my MISTI stamp positioner, I stamp a greeting from Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words stamp set with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. Finally, I add liquid glue onto the back of the floral die cut and mount just above my greeting and center on the panel, this completes my card.

My second card, I use Hero Arts Hearts Nesting dies to cut my inked panel into a heart shape, running it through my Big Shot. I use the next size up heart die from the same set and cut out of Taylored Expressions Poppy Seed cardstock, then glue together using my Connect glue. I adhere the layered heart onto a 4 1/4"x 5 1/2" white Neenah top folding card base to the left side, just off the card then trim off the overhang. Next, using my Simon Says Stamp Script Thanks die, I cut the Thanks two times out of Oreo cardstock and the shadow once from Vellum. I stack and glue the greeting together and glue to the vellum shadow using Connect glue, then glue it onto the heart. To finish off my card, I attach black jewels from Lucy's Cards Ebony Jewels using my connect glue.

For my third card, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white panel. Using my Taylored Expressions Streamers embossing folder I run the white panel through my Big Shot, then adhere it to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white card base. Next, I use scrap pieces of my inked backgrounds and cut out balloons using Lawn Fawn Party Balloons die set running them through my Big Shot. From the same set, I cut out the balloon strings using vellum. For my greeting, I use Stamps Of Life Happy Statement and cut Happy once out of my inked panel and once out of Poppy Seed cardstock. I use Connect glue to attach the two, slightly offsetting to create a shadow affect. For my sentiment, I use Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words and stamp onto Poppy Seed cardstock using Versamark ink. I then use Brutus Monroe Alabaster embossing powder and heat set with my Wagner heat tool. Using Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Label dies, I cut out my sentiment. To assemble my card, I first glue down my balloons and attach the strings using Connect glue. I then glue down my Happy greeting over the balloon strings and with Foam Strips, I attach my sentiment.

My fourth card, I start with a 3 3/4" x 5" white panel mounted onto a 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" Poppy Seed panel. I then attach to a Taylored Expressions Candy Corn card base. Using Pinkfresh Studio Floral Squares die, I cut out once with my inked background and two times using white cardstock running them through my Big Shot. I stack and glue them together using Connect glue, setting an acrylic block on top of the dies until the glue is set. I then glue to the upper center portion of my card. Next, I use Gina K. Designs Wealth Of Wishes stamp set to stamp a sentiment just below the floral square using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and this completes my card.

For my fifth and final card, I cut a 1 3/4" x 4 7/8" strip from my inked background and mounted onto a 2" x 5" Poppy Seed strip. I then mount onto a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white card base. Next, I cut a greeting from Taylored Expressions Thanks Script die using Oreo card stock, I then cut Taylored Expressions Thanks Script Backer out of vellum, running these both through my Big Shot. I glued the two together using Connect glue and mounted onto my inked strip just below half way down. I also added some black jewels to finish off my card.

This concludes part 2 of my Cling Wrap Background technique. I hope you enjoyed my cards and give this technique a try for yourself! Any brand of food wrap would work as well as any dye inks. Oxide inks work well also, they just give a different look because of the oxidation.

*Here is a link to Jennifer McGuire's video for this technique - https://youtu.be/16p0TR7A7I0
My technique is a bit different than hers, both give a different, unique look.

I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
