Pinkfresh Studio Floral Square

Hello, welcome to my blog!!

Today's cards feature the Pinkfresh Studio Floral Square Dies. I will be using these dies to create three cards, two of the cards will be using die inlay, the other card uses a small amount of ink blending. I will be using Gina K. Designs ink and cardstock. There are six dies in this set, each is a square die with a floral image. I will be using two of the dies to create my three cards. Looking back, I, myself wondered why I didn't use four of the dies instead of two (insert eye roll, lol!!). Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of today's work on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I use the second biggest die from my Stitched Rectangle Die Set to cut a panel out of Heavy Base White Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. Using my Blender Brushes, I blend Lemon Drop Ink onto the top center of the panel. Next, I blend Jelly Bean Green Ink just below and fade back into the first color a bit.

Using one of the dies from the Floral Squares Dies, I cut out of Heavy Base White Cardstock two times, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I then stack and glue the two die cuts using Liquid Glue.

I now place my blended panel into my MISTI Stamp Positioner to stamp a sentiment. I place my die cut onto the panel to figure out my sentiment placement. I then choose a sentiment from the Scripted Bold Sentiments 2 Stamp Set and stamp onto my panel using Versafine Clair Nocturn Ink.

Taking the biggest die from my Stitched Rectangle Die Set, I cut a panel out of Jelly Bean Green Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. Using Double Sided Tape, I adhere the green panel onto a Heavy Base White Cardstock card base.

I add a piece of Double Sided Adhesive Foam to the back of my blended panel, remove the release paper and mount over the green panel. To finish off this card, I use Liquid Glue to adhere the floral square, and this completes my first card.

For the second card, I will be using some scraps of alcohol inked black cardstock to do some die cut inlay. I start by taking the biggest die from my Stitched Rectangle Dies and cut a panel out of Black Onyx Cardstock. Next, I take two dies from the Floral Squares Dies and cut out of a scrap of an alcohol inked panel I had. I also use the same two dies to cut out of Silver Mirror Cardstock.
**I will be using the frames from the silver cardstock on this card along with the alcohol inked pieces, and the frames from the alcohol inked frames along with the silver pieces for my last card.

Next, I place the black panel into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and prep with my Anti Static Powder Bag. I then position the die cuts onto the panel to determine where I want to place my sentiment. I choose a sentiment from the Scripted Bold Sentiments 2 Stamp Set and stamp onto the black panel using Versamark Embossing Ink. I add Detailed Silver Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool.

Using Double Sided Tape, I adhere my black panel onto a Wild Wisteria Cardstock card base (sorry, this cardstock is no longer available). Next, I adhere the silver floral squares to the card front, one above the sentiment and one below using Liquid Glue. I now take the alcohol inked pieces from the other die cuts and start inlaying them into the silver floral squares using Liquid Glue. This completes my second card.

For my last card, I take the second smallest die from my Stitched Square Dies and create a stitched frame out of Wild Lilac Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. To do this, I line the die up onto the cardstock, leaving and edge on the top and left side and hold down using Purple Tape. After I run it through my Big Shot, I use my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer to cut the other two sides.

Next, I cut a piece of Black Onyx Cardstock to fit behind my alcohol inked frame and adhere it using Liquid Glue.

I now start my inlay process with the silver pieces using Liquid Glue.

I now take the biggest die from my Stitched Rectangle Dies and cut a panel out of Black Onyx Cardstock. I place the panel into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and prep with my Anti Static Powder Bag. I lay my purple frame onto the panel and decide where I want my sentiment. I then choose a sentiment from the Scripted Bold Sentiments 2 Stamp Set and stamp using Versamark Embossing Ink. I then add Detailed Silver Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool.

Using Double Sided Tape, I mount my panel onto an Onyx Black Cardstock card base. I use Liquid Glue to adhere the purple frame above the sentiment. For a little dimension, I add Foam Tape onto the back of my floral die cut and mount over the purple frame. This completes my final card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card projects. These cards are only a couple of examples of what can be done with these dies. They are perfect for die cut inlaying, adding over ink blending or a water colored area. These frames would even be great to make gift tags for any occasion!

I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
