Flower Stencil W/Glitter Glitz

Hello, welcome to my blog!!

I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy! Today's card focuses on ink blending with a stencil and adding lots of sparkle and shine using Glitter Glitz Gel. I will also add in some glitter cardstock for even more sparkle! For my ink blending I will be using regular Distress Inks.
Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of today's work on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I cut a 4 3/4" x 6" panel out of Neenah White Cardstock, big enough to fit the stencil using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer. I then tape to the back of my Large Flower Stencil. Taking my Blender Brush, I start by blending Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink onto the center area of the flower and fade out a bit. Next, I take Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink around the previous color and fade out a bit to blend in with my next color. Finally, I blend Picked Raspberry Distress Ink around the previous color, fading out to the corners.

Keeping the stencil attached, I now take Iridescent Glitter Glitz Gel and add it to the top of my blended panel. I then take my Craft Scraper and drag the gel down the stencil, making sure all open areas are coated with gel. Once the panel is evenly coated with gel, I carefully remove the stencil from my panel and set it aside to dry for about an hour. ***Immediately after removing the stencil, I lay it in a tub of warm water with a little dish soap along with the scraper. You want to wash your tools as soon as possible so the gel doesn't dry making it hard to remove. I also use water with a little soap to clean up my glass mat. **To help extend the life of my glitter gel, I place a piece of Press n' Seal over the top before screwing the cover back on. This helps to keep air from drying out the product.

Next, I take my Mega Hello Dies and cut out of Pixie Dust Sparkle Cardstock using my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I then take the shadow die and cut out of Azalea Cardstock. Using Liquid Glue, I adhere the two die cuts together.

I place a scrap of Azalea Cardstock into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and prep with my Anti Static Powder Bag. I then take a sentiment from my Precious Peony Stamp Set and stamp using Versmark Embossing Ink, I add Detail White Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool.

Next, I take my Sentiment Banners Die to cut out my sentiment. This die was longer thank I wanted for my sentiment, so I shortened it by partial die cutting. I tape down the die using Purple Tape, lining up the end of the die where I want it. I then put the die into my cutting plates only partially so that only the one end will cut and run it through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I then remove the tape and line up the die to the other end of my sentiment then "wiggle" the die back into place. Once I feel the die set back into the previous cut, I tape down and again put into my cutting plates so that only the end that needs to be cut is in between the cutting plates, the other half of the die will be sticking out and again run through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine.

I now take my biggest Stitched Rectangle Die and cut out of Neenah White Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. After my glitter panel is completely dry, I offset it over my white stitched panel. Once I have it where I want it, I hold it in place and flip them over. I take a pencil and trace onto the glitter panel where it will lay over the stitched panel so I know where to add the adhesive. Next, I add Double Sided Tape to the inside of the pencil lines and to the middle. I then remove the release paper and lay the stitched panel back into the pencil markings, pressing it down to adhere.

Using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Timmer, I cut off all overhang. I then mount onto an Azalea Cardstock card base using Double Sided Tape.

Finally, I add Foam Tape pieces to the back of my greeting along with some Liquid Glue for extra strength then mount to the front of my card. I also add a strip of Foam Tape to my sentiment and mount just below the greeting and this completes me card. I've attached a couple of close ups to show the beautiful sparkle in both the gel and the cardstock!

I hope you enjoyed today's card, it was a very fun card to create! The pictures do not show the full sparkle and shine. This is definitely a card anyone would love to receive! Offsetting panels on a card gives a fun, different look. I thought it was a perfect look for this card!

3D Peony Bundle Embossing Folder W/Oxide Inks

Hello, welcome to my blog!!  I want to start out by thanking everyone for the support and nice comments you all leave for me. I truly appreciate the support of this blog!! I enjoy card making and bringing my creations to you, this wouldn't be possible without your support, so again, thank you!! I'm back!!! For those of you that don't know, I took a couple of weeks off to spend some time with my brand new grand babies!! We were blessed with two more grandsons (who are cousins, their dads are brothers!) that were born only two days apart! We now have three grandsons and one granddaughter and feel so blessed!! Today I am using Distress Oxide inks to watercolor a 3D embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp. I was blown away by the detail of this embossing folder and knew right away that I wanted to watercolor something soft. Having all of these raised areas to color made watercoloring so simple and really took little effort. With all of the dimension of the 3D effect it is easy...
