Blessed So Very Much

Hello, welcome to my blog!!

***There has been SO MUCH interest in the Water Droplets I use on my cards that I wanted to start off my letting you know that they are BACK IN STOCK!!!

With all of the negative going on in the world these days, I thought I would create a card that focuses on our blessings. This would be a great card to give someone, to let them know how blessed you feel to have them in your life.
Today's card consists of simple water coloring with some light ink blending. I will be using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to do my water coloring with. I will be using Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock as this is the best I've found for blending on using Zig Markers. For my ink blending, I will be using regular Distress Ink. Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I cut a 4" x 5 1/4" panel out of Bristol Smooth Cardstock using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer. Next, I use my Blender Brush to blend Weathered Wood Distress Ink onto my panel. I blend the ink heavier at the bottom and work my way up the sides a bit, fading out toward the center. I then stamp a greeting from the Script Greetings Stamp Set onto the top left portion of my panel using Versafine Clair Nocturn Ink. To add a little interest to the panel, I press some Black Soot Distress Ink onto my Glass Media Mat, take a small paintbrush with clean water to pick up the ink and spatter it onto my blended panel then set aside to dry.

Next, I prep a piece of Black Cardstock with my Anti Static Powder Bag then take a sentiment from the same Script Greetings Stamp Set and stamp it using Versamark Embossing Ink. I then add Detail Silver Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool.

Now, I create my images. I place a panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and lay out flowers and leaves from the Perfectly Perfect Stamp Set, then close the door of my MISTI to pick up the stamps. I prep the panel using my Anti Static Powder Bag then ink up the stamps using Versamark Embossing Ink. I then add Detail Silver Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool.

For coloring my images, I will be using the 36 Count Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. To start, I take Light Pink-026 and add a little color to the base of the flower petals. Using my Water Brush filled with clean water, I pull the color out toward the ends of each petal.

The next color I use is Light Carmine-021. I add a little color to the base of each petal, then using my Water Brush I pull the color out a bit, I don't want to cover up all of the previous color. For my last color, I added Carmine Red-022 to deepen the shadow areas.

For the small flower, I add Light Gray-091 and blend out with my Water Brush. I then add some Light Pink-026 and again, blend out.

For the leaves, I follow the same process. I start with Mid Green-046 and put down a little color at the base. I again use my Water Brush and pull the color toward the end of the leaf. I then add Green Gray-093 and repeat the process.
To add a little more shading to the darkest flower, I added a very small amount of Mid Gray-096 to the base of the petals and blended.

Once my coloring is finished, I fussy cut out all of my images using my Razor Edge Shears. I decided that I wanted more leaves, so I made a few more. I then take and attach the leaves behind each flower using Liquid Glue. Next, I cut out of Vellum using my Leafy Branch Die, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I cut my vellum die in half so that I could attach one to each of the bigger flowers.

Using Double Sided Tape, I attach my blended panel onto a white card base. I then take Foam Tape and add it to the backside of each flower and adhere to my card front. For the small flower, I doubled up the Foam Tape to make it sit a little higher. I take the vellum leaf branches and attach them behind the bigger flowers using Liquid Glue. Next, I trim down my embossed sentiment, add Foam Tape then adhere just below the greeting. I add Water Droplets using Liquid Glue and this completes my card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. I've really been liking the silver embossed look. Whether it's deep, dark colors or soft colors, silver looks great!

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
