Today's card project is a simple soft design to welcome a new baby girl into the world! I love soft muted colors against a white background and by doing a little ink blending with a pale pink color I was able to achieve that look. I kept this card simple with an inlaid background and die greeting, then added a small strip sentiment. I didn't have a pale enough pink cardstock, so I will be using Distress Oxide Ink to create my own pale pink cardstock. Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I cut a 4 1/2" x 5 3/4" panel out of Neenah White Cardstock using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer. Using my Blender Brush, I blend Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink onto my panel. *I created a very light blend which is hard to see in the picture. The color will show up better when I do my inlaying. Next, I take my Fancy Diagonal Stripes Die and cut out of my panel, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I then remove the strips and keep them in order making it easier to do my inlaying.

I then take the same die and cut out of Neenah White Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot. I remove all of the strips and save them for a future project. Using Liquid Glue I adhere the white die cut onto a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel of Neenah White Cardstock. *At this point, you could adhere directly onto a white card base, but I always like to work on a panel before committing to a card base.

Now it is time to inlay my pink blended strips into the white die cut. I use Liquid Glue and inlay the first strip in the top left corner. I repeat this process until all strips have been glued into place.

For a greeting, I take my Mega Hello Die Set and cut out of Neenah White Cardstock three times running them through my Big Shot. I then stack and glue the three die cuts together using Liquid Glue.

Taking the shadow die from the Mega Hello Die Set, I cut out of Vellum, running them through my Big Shot. I then add Liquid Glue to the back side of the hello die cut and mount onto the vellum shadow die cut.

Next, I take a scrap piece of Neenah White Cardstock and lightly blend Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink onto it. I then trim off a thin strip using my Guillotine Paper Trimmer. I place the thin strip into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and stamp a sentiment from the Sentiment Strips 2 Stamp Set using Versafine Clair Nocturn Ink. Finally, I angle cut each end.

Using Double Sided Tape, I adhere my die cut panel onto a white card base.

I mount my greeting onto the card front using Liquid Glue. Using thin cardstock scraps, I glue several strips onto the back of my sentiment for added dimension then mount over my greeting using Liquid Glue. I add pearl gems from my stash using my Jewel Picker, adhering with Liquid Glue and this completes my card.

This pale pink ink gives such a soft feel along with the white cardstock that is perfect for this baby girl card. Whether you use bold, bright colors for a celebration or soft, subtle colors for a baby card, this background die is perfect!

I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
