Today, I have for you a gorgeous floral stamp from Stampendous water colored using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I will also be using a die from Pinkfresh Studio called Phrase Builder - Sending. This die set comes with the word die "sending" that coordinates with several other word dies included in the set which makes these word dies so versatile. You will see me using these a lot on future card projects. Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I take the biggest die from my Stitched Rectangle Die Set and cut out of Bristol Smooth Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. Next, I place the panel into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and prep using my Anti Static Powder Bag. I stamp an image from the Rose Friend Stamp Set using Versafine Clair Nocturn Ink. I then add Black Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool

I will be adding color using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers 36 Count Set and blending using a Water Brush filled with clean water. To start, I add 036-Light Blue at the base of my first petal then blend out towards the end of the petal using my water brush. I repeat this process for all of the petals. This will become the base color for my flower.

Next, I add 031-Cobalt Blue to the base of the petals and blend out about half way, I don't want to completely cover my first color. I also add to areas where petals overlap or curl to create shadows.

After my second layer is finished, I go back with the same cobalt blue and add small amounts to the detailed lines of the image where shadows would be. I blend just a bit and keep the color concentrated to these areas. To finish off the flower, I add 052-Bright Yellow to the very center and blend.

At this point I realize I have no leaves!!! I stamp my floral image onto a piece of Masking Magic Masking Paper and fussy cut around the edges using my Razor Shears. I then peel off the release paper and stick the mask onto my shirt a couple of times to lessen the tack. After doing all of my water color, I do not want to chance the mask pulling up any areas of my water color. I then place the mask over my image where I want to stamp my leaves.

I place the panel back into my MISTI and prep with my Anti Static Powder Bag then arrange my leaves. I then stamp the leaves using Versafine Clair Nocturn Ink. I add Black Embossing Powder then carefully remove the mask and heat with my Heat Tool.

Next, I add 046-Mid Green to the base of my first leaf then blend out towards the end using my Water Brush. I repeat this process for each of the leaves.

For added depth, I add 043-Olive Green to the base and veins of the leaf and blend out with my water brush. I repeat this process with each leaf.

To break up the white area a bit, I scribble 065-Mid Brown onto my Glass Mat then take a paintbrush with clean water and pick up the brown ink and spatter over my panel.

Next, I cut a 3 3/4" x 5 1/4" panel out of Double Sided Adhesive Foam using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer. I remove the release paper and adhere to the back of my panel then onto a Paper Bag Cardstock card base.

For my greeting I choose a die from the Phrase Builder - Sending Die Set and cut out of Paper Bag Cardstock two times and once out of Black Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot. Using Liquid Glue, I stack and glue the brown die cuts together. I then glue them over the black die cut offsetting a bit to create a shadow look.

Taking my Elegant Flourish Die I cut out of Vellum, running them through my Big Shot. *Because this die has such fine detail, I needed to use my Metal Adaptor Plate under the bottom cutting plate of my big shot, which gave me a beautiful cut.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhere the vellum die cut behind my greeting die cut then glue onto my card front.

For a sentiment, I stamp a greeting from the same Rose Friend Stamp Set using Versafine Clair Nocturn Ink then cut out using a die from the Sentiment Banners Die Set, running them through my Big Shot. I add Foam Tape to the back of my sentiment banner and mount under my greeting. To finish, I take my Jewel Picker and add Water Droplets using Liquid Glue and this completes my card.

There is just something about large floral images! Whether it's coloring them or stamping them for a tone on tone look, they give such a beautiful look. I really like images that are big enough to cover most of a card front. You really don't need to add much more than a greeting or sentiment, and your card is done!

Shadow Stamping With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog!! ***I wanted to let everyone know that Scrapbook.com has kicked off Freebie February!! Every couple of days they will be offering free items along with great sales! Check often as the sales will be frequently changing. I have placed a store logo on the front page of my blog just down below my profile that brings you directly to their store!    *I know die cut machines can be a bigger investment, but if you are in need of one and looking for a good price, Scrapbook.com has some really good prices on Big Shots -  stand alone  machines and bundles.   Today's card project is similar to yesterday's blog post using the shadow stamping technique, but today, I will be using a stencil. I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

3D Peony Bundle Embossing Folder W/Oxide Inks

Hello, welcome to my blog!!  I want to start out by thanking everyone for the support and nice comments you all leave for me. I truly appreciate the support of this blog!! I enjoy card making and bringing my creations to you, this wouldn't be possible without your support, so again, thank you!! I'm back!!! For those of you that don't know, I took a couple of weeks off to spend some time with my brand new grand babies!! We were blessed with two more grandsons (who are cousins, their dads are brothers!) that were born only two days apart! We now have three grandsons and one granddaughter and feel so blessed!! Today I am using Distress Oxide inks to watercolor a 3D embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp. I was blown away by the detail of this embossing folder and knew right away that I wanted to watercolor something soft. Having all of these raised areas to color made watercoloring so simple and really took little effort. With all of the dimension of the 3D effect it is easy
