Trapped Ink Embossing

Hello, welcome to my blog! In today's card project, I will be clear embossing my images so that colored ink shows through. If you've never tried this technique, I encourage you to do so. Any stamped image would work, but I find bold, solid images work best as they allow lots of colored ink to show through the clear embossing. I have created two cards showing different color combinations. For the first card I will be using blender brushes to lay down my colored ink. For the second card I will use jumbo sponge daubers. Both applications lay down lots of ink, however, I find the sponge daubers apply the ink heavier and quicker. Let's get started!! To start, I cut two 4" x 5 1/4" white Neenah cardstock panels using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer as I will be making two cards. With the first panel, I will be using my Life Changing Blender Brushes to blend my ink. I start with Gina K. Designs Wild Dandelion ink and blend small circles onto my panel, ...

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil...

Creative Fold

Hello, welcome to my blog!! Today's card project will be an A2 size with a creative fold that requires an 8 1/2" x 11" full sheet of cardstock. Because we will be cutting our sheet in half, you will be able to make two cards out of one sheet of cardstock. For some reason I am on a kick with wedding cards lately! I think it is Gina K. Designs Scripty Love stamp set that is steering me in that direction.  Let's get started on today's card!! To start, I take a full 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of Gina K. Designs Stormy Sky cardstock. Using my Scor-Buddy , I score it at 4 1/4", rotate then score at 5 1/2". *If using the Scor-Buddy, you will have to score half way down the sheet of cardstock for your 4 1/4" score, then turn the cardstock to the other end and score again at 4 1/4". Repeat for the 5 1/2" score. Next, I cut the sheet of cardstock in half diagonally. If you have a large paper trimmer/cutter, this will be easy, just cu...
