You Are Incredible

Hello, welcome to my blog!!

I hope everyone had a good weekend and the new week is off to a great start! Today's card is a bit different than my usual A2 sized cards, it will be a finished 5 x 5 size. Once in a while I like to switch things up a bit and make different size cards. For today's card, I will be doing some ink blending using regular Distress Inks and embossing, I will also create a square frame for my card. Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I cut a 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" panel out of Neenah White Cardstock using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer. Taking my Blender Brushes, I blend Tumbled Glass Distress Ink around the lower left portion of the panel, leaving a highlighted area in the middle of my blending. Next, I take Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and blend around the previous color and the remainder of my panel. I then go back with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and blend where the two colors meet to create a seamless blend.

Using my Craft Heat Tool, I completely dry my inked panel. Next, I add a little Dot Runner Tape to the back of the panel and place into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and prep with my Anti Static Powder Bag. Taking my Leafy Vine Background Stamp, I stamp onto my inked panel using Versamark Embossing Ink. I then add Detail White Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool.

Next, I create a frame for my panel. I cut a 4 3/4" x 4 3/4" panel out of white cardstock using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer. I then center the biggest die from the Reverse Stitched Scalloped Square Window Die set and hold in place using Purple Tape and run through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. This created my frame.

I add Double Sided Tape to the back of my frame, remove the release paper and adhere over my blended panel.

To create a greeting for my card, I take my Fancy Thanks Die and cut out of white cardstock two times and once out of Peacock Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I stack and glue the white die cuts together using Liquid Glue. I then glue the peacock colored die cut on top, offsetting a bit. Next, I add Foam Tape to the back of my framed panel and adhere onto 5" x 5" Peacock Cardstock card base. Using Liquid Glue, I adhere the greeting onto my card front. ***A tip for evenly centering panels when using foam tape... I add liquid glue to the foam. This gives me a little bit of time to move the panel into place making sure it is evenly spaced on all four corners.

I now place a scrap strip of white cardstock into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and stamp a sentiment from the Persian Motifs Stamp Set using Versafine Clair Nocturn Ink. I cut each end of the strip at an angle and add a strip of Foam Tape to the back then adhere just under my greeting. To finish off the card, I add Water Droplets using Liquid Glue and this completes my card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. I love the way everything came together, from the swirly vine background and fancy thanks die to the white on blue colors, this may be one of my favorite cards! I do think the square size is eye catching and appealing. You may see more square cards in the near future!

I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
