Flower Garden Fancy Die

Hello, welcome to my blog!!

Today, I have a clean and simple card for you using a fancy cut background die. I will be doing some ink blending using Distress Oxide Inks. This card comes together quickly with multiple die cuts, the only stamping I do is for the sentiment. I love a clean look with lots of white against the color, and this card has just that! Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel out of Neenah White Cardstock using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer. I then take my Blender Brushes and blend Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink onto the center area of the panel fading in towards the center leaving a highlighted area. Next, I take Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink and blend around the rest of the panel fading into the previous color. To complete my blending, I go back with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink to soften where the two colors meet.

I now take my Flower Garden Fancy Die and cut out of white cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. Using Spray Adhesive, I spray onto the back of my die cut then adhere over my blended panel. *You could also use liquid glue to adhere.

Taking the biggest die from my Stitched Rectangle Die Set, I center over my blended panel being sure the stitching edging will go over all four sides of the flower die then run through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I then use Double Sided Tape and adhere to a white card base.

Next, I take a scrap piece of white cardstock and blend Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink, then blend Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink around and fade the two inks together. I now take my Fancy Thanks Die and cut out of white cardstock two times and once out of my blended scrap piece, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I then stack and glue them together using Liquid glue, with the blended die cut on top.

To create a backdrop for my greeting, I take the medium die from my Double Stitched Oval Dies Set and cut out of white cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I now place the oval die cut into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and lay out the thanks die cut to determine where I want to stamp my sentiment. I take a sentiment from the Script Greetings Stamp Set and stamp the oval using Versafine Clair Nocturn Ink. Taking Liquid Glue, I adhere the thanks die cut onto the oval, just above the sentiment.

To finish, I add Foam Tape to the back of the oval and adhere to the center of my card front. Using my Jewel Picker, I add some jewels from my stash using Liquid Glue and my card is finished.

I hope you enjoyed this clean and simple card. I think this fancy background die would also look great as white on white for a more subtle look.

The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
