Hello, welcome to my blog!!

I want to start out by thanking everyone for the support and nice comments you all leave for me. I truly appreciate the support of this blog!! I enjoy card making and bringing my creations to you, this wouldn't be possible without your support, so again, thank you!!!

The day is finally here, tonight is the holiday release at 7:00 pm CST over at Gina K. Designs!!! This release is HUGE and features a brand new Kit!! Gina has really outdone herself with this release with so many beautiful stamp sets, one of the sets even has elements that can be used in the Wreath Builder (sorry, it's not a set like I thought)! She is also releasing a brand new Master Layouts 3 Die Set that coordinates with her very popular Wreath Builder sets!! With a new kit being released that means everything from her previous kit will be available to purchase separately. I anticipate that some of the new sets and dies from tonight's release may sell out... if you are interested in any of these, I encourage you to get your order in. The brand new items will be available for purchase starting at 7:00 pm CST (or very shortly after), you can find these items under the "What's New" option on the GKD webpage. I have a GKD logo located at the lower right side of my blog that takes you directly to her store. *Affiliate links used at not cost to you. If you purchase through my links, thank you so much for your support, it is greatly appreciated! **If you find one of my items below not linked it is because the link is not available yet... they should be linked shortly after 7:00pm CST.

Today, I have a card made with the Autumn Silhouettes stamp set from Gina K. Designs. This is a fabulous fall set that includes silhouette images with beautiful sentiments. I will be using the emboss resist technique with the leaves from this set as well as a sentiment. These leaves are so perfect for this technique and also look beautiful stamped in colored ink on white or light colored cardstock. To create a backdrop for my blended panel I will be using the Harvest Flourish stencil also from GK. Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I use the biggest stitched die from the Master Layouts 2 Die Set and cut out of Kraft Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I then add a small amount of Adhesive Dot Runner to the back of the panel and place it into my MISTI Stamp Positioner.

Before stamping, I prep the panel using my Anti Static Powder Bag. I then take the leaf images from the Autumn Silhouettes Stamp Set and arrange them over the panel then pick them up with the door of my MISTI. I stamp these images using Versamark Ink, add Gold Embossing Powder then heat set with my Heat Tool. I clean the stamps then rearrange them over my panel to fill in all of the areas and repeat my embossing.

Once my embossing is finished, I take my Blender Brushes and blend Kraft Ink around the center of the panel, fading towards the very center. Next, I blend Warm Coca Ink around the previous color, fading back into it a bit. I then blend Charcoal Brown Ink around the previous color, fading into it a bit. For my fourth color, I blend Dark Chocolate Ink around the sides and corners, fading back into the previous color. I then go back through each color to create a soft blend. To add some depth I blend Black Onyx Ink around the very edges and corners of the panel, completing my ink blending.

Using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer I cut a 1" x 4 1/4" strip out of Vellum and place it into my MISTI. I prep the strip with my Anti Static Powder Bag and stamp a sentiment from the Autumn Silhouettes Stamp Set using Amalgam Obsidian Ink. I then add Black Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool.

Next, I add Terrific Tape to the back of my embossed panel. I then line up my sentiment across the front of the panel and wrap the ends of the Vellum around the back of the panel securing them over the adhesive. Using the biggest layering die from the Master Layouts 2 Die Set I cut out of Black Onyx Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot. I then use Terrific Tape and adhere my embossed panel onto the black panel.

Next, I place a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Kraft Cardstock into my Scor Buddy and score at 5 1/2" creating a top folding card base. I then take my Harvest Flourish Stencil and adhere it over the front of my card base using Purple Tape. Using my Blender Brushes I first blend Kraft Ink over the sides and corners of the stencil. I then blend Warm Cocoa Ink to random areas, followed by Charcoal Brown Ink. I am careful not to add too much of the darkest color as I don't want to cover up the previous colors, I just want to create a gradient blend with all of the colors showing on all sides of the panel. *You can carefully lift the edges of the stencil as you are blending to see where more color may be needed.

I then add Foam Tape to the back of my embossed panel and mount it onto my card base. I use my Jewel Picker to add Dew Drops with Liquid Glue and this completes my card.

I LOVE the results I got with using brown tones against the gold embossing! Gina's inks blend so beautifully together and they dry back to a nice soft blend. I love creating gradient ink blends and Gina offers a good variety of colors to achieve this look in all of her color families. I think this card would also be great for a masculine birthday card by changing the sentiment. Using kraft cardstock instead of white is a great base for blending when using earth tone colors.

I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
