Thank you for your support!

Today, I have for you a simple masked ink blending with a silhouette stamped image. The set that I will be using is from Gina K. Designs and it is back in stock... yay!! This set is filled with silhouette images and also has a few greetings in a beautiful font. I will also be using inks and cardstock from Gina K. I wanted to create a sunrise with my ink blending so I googled "sunrises". I chose a beautiful image and matched up the colors. While many wouldn't look at my blending and see a sunrise, I was amazed and thrilled how these colors blended together! I was careful not to overlap my blending where the blue and yellow meet, as I did not want to create green. The key was to lightly fade out the ink to where these colors met. Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I take the smaller rectangle from the Master Layouts 1 Die Set and cut a panel out of White Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I then trim a piece of Masking Magic masking paper to 3 3/4" x 5" using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer. Next, I take the biggest die from the Double Stitched Ovals Die Set and cut an opening out of the masking paper, running them through my Big Shot. I then remove the release paper and adhere it over my panel.

Using my Blender Brushes, I blend Sweet Mango Ink towards the bottom right portion of my panel. Next, I blend a small amount of Wild Dandelion Ink just above and to the left of the previous color.

Leaving a little white space, I blend Sea Glass Ink then Blue Denim Ink just above. For my final color, I blend Plum Punch Ink at the top and lightly blend back into the blue inks.

I go back through my colors and blend to deepen the shades. I blend the Sea Glass Ink a little further down towards the yellow, making sure not to blend over it as I do not want to create green. I then blend a little Wild Dandelion Ink to the very bottom of the panel and end up lightly blending Blue Denim Ink over it to create a color for my ground. After I am satisfied with the blend, I carefully remove the mask.

I place my blended panel into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and choose an image from the Natural Silhouettes Stamp Set. I position the image and stamp my panel using Amalgam Obsidian Ink.

Next, I take the biggest die from the Master Layouts 1 Die Set and cut out of Black Onyx Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot. Using Terrific Tape, I adhere my blended panel onto it.

Taking a scrap piece of white cardstock, I place it into my MISTI and prep it with my Anti Static Powder Bag. I then stamp a greeting from the Natural Silhouettes Stamp Set using Amalgam Obsidian Ink. I then add Black Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool. I trim down the ends and mount it to a slightly bigger piece of Black Onyx Cardstock using Terrific Tape.

Using my Scor Buddy, I place a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Wild Dandelion Cardstock into it and score at 5 1/2", creating my card base.

For a little dimension, I add Foam Tape to the back of my blended panel and adhere onto the card base. I also add Foam Tape to my greeting and mount onto the card front. Using my Jewel Picker, I add Water Droplets with Liquid Glue and this completes my card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. I love the simple look of an ink blended card with black silhouette stamping. No matter how many variations I create with this look, each one has it's own beauty.

Check often as the sales will be frequently changing. I have placed a store logo on the front page of my blog just down below my profile that brings you directly to their store!    *I know die cut machines can be a bigger investment, but if you are in need of one and looking for a good price, Scrapbook.com has some really good prices on Big Shots -  stand alone  machines and bundles.   Today's card project is similar to yesterday's blog post using the shadow stamping technique, but today, I will be using a stencil. I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
