Thank you for your support!

Today's card is a very simple watercolor using dye inks from Gina K. Designs. I will be using a water brush to add color to my images and to blend. Gina's inks are great for water coloring and has a wide variety of colors to choose from. The watercolor cardstock I will be using for today's card is Canson XL 140 lb. This cardstock is great quality and very inexpensive, I purchase mine at Walmart for around $6.00... I will post a picture down below. The stamp set I will be using is called The Best Flowers, along with the coordinating dies. ***Don't forget to set a reminder, tomorrow night at 7:00 pm CST, Gina will be releasing a brand new kit along with many other goodies!! I am honored to be a guest designer for this new release and have made two cards each for three of the new stamp sets! Starting tomorrow after Gina's release, I will be posting my first two cards with the others following on Friday and Monday's blog. I had a lot of fun creating with these new sets and think this new release will be a big hit with everyone! Let's get started on today's card!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I take the smaller die from the Master Layouts 1 Die Set and cut out of watercolor cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I then place the panel into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and prep with my Anti Static Powder Bag. Using Amalgam Obsidian Ink, I stamp an image from The Best Flowers Stamp Set. I add Black Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool. Next, I line up a single leaf from the same stamp set and again stamp, add embossing powder and heat set. I also stamp another floral image using the same process.

Using the white area of my Glass Mat, I press some ink cubes onto it. This will be used as my palette for my water coloring. Starting with the smaller floral image, I use my Water Brush filled with clean water and wet my first petal. I then pick up a small amount of Dusty Rose Ink and add it to the base of the petal. I wipe the ink from my brush onto a paper towel then blend the ink on the petal out about 3/4 of the way towards the end. I repeat this process for all of the bigger petals. For the tiny petals, I just brush some color over them. This first layer of color is just a light wash to add a base.

Going back with the same color, I pick up some ink and add it to the base of the petal then blend out about half way. I don't want to completely cover up the first layer of color. I repeat this process for each of the bigger petals. I add a little ink here and there to areas I want a little darker also.

For the second flower, I repeat the same process as before only this time I use Lovely Lavender Ink. This is a much lighter ink so I end up adding a few layers until I was happy with the shade.

For the leaves I use the same process, I wet my first leaf and add Jelly Bean Green Ink to the base, blending out towards the end. I repeat this process for all of the leaves. I then add Fresh Asparagus Ink and blend out. Again, I repeat for all of the leaves.

Taking the biggest rectangle from the Master Layouts 1 Die Set I cut out of Black Onyx Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot. Using Terrific Tape, I adhere my water colored panel onto the black panel.

Next, I place the panel into my MISTI and choose a greeting from the Natural Silhouettes Stamp Set. I line up the greeting then stamp it onto my panel using Amalgam Obsidian Ink.

Using my Scor Buddy I place a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Lovely Lavender Cardstock into it and score at 4 1/4", this creates my card base. Using Terrific Tape, I adhere my panel onto the card base.

Taking the coordinating die from The Best Flowers Die Set I line it up over my first image. Holding it down with Purple Tape, I run through my Big Shot. I add Foam Tape to the back of it and mount it over the leaves cluster of the embossed flower on the card front. I then use my Jewel Picker to add Water Droplets with Liquid Glue and this completes my card.

This stamp set is great for water coloring, colored pencil blending, Copic coloring or any other coloring medium. The single flowers and leaves would also be great for tone on tone stamping or even stamping on  blended backgrounds or colored cardstock using white pigment ink. There are also two greetings with several coordinating sentiments!

I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
