New Release - Welcome Home

Hello, welcome to my blog!!

I want to start out by thanking everyone for the support and nice comments you all leave for me. I truly appreciate the support of this blog!! I enjoy card making and bringing my creations to you, this wouldn't be possible without your support, so again, thank you!!!

Today, I have another card made with the Welcome Home stamp set from Gina K.Designs new release along with the coordinating dies, that are sold separately. This has been a fun set to play with, I'm really loving the birdhouses! I will be using the Master Layouts 1 Dies to create layers as well as an oval for my backdrop popped up on an embossed background. Using my Scor Buddy, I will create some textured wood grain for my little birdhouse. I will also be using Gina K. Designs ink and cardstock. Let's get started!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I take the smaller rectangle die from the Master Layouts 1 Die Set and cut out of Ivory Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I then place the panel into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and line up a greeting from the Welcome Home Stamp Set. Using Charcoal Brown Ink, I stamp the greeting and a sentiment onto my panel.

Next, I take the oval die from the Master Layouts 1 Die Set and cut out of my panel, centering below the greeting. I use Purple Tape to hold the die in place and run through my Big Shot. I set the oval piece aside for later.

I now place the panel into my Sunburst Embossing Folder and run through my Big Shot.

Next, I take the biggest rectangle from the Master Layouts 1 Die Set and cut out of Charcoal Brown Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot. Using Terrific Tape, I adhere my embossed panel onto the brown panel.

I now go back to my oval piece. Using my Cloud Stencil and Blender Brush, I blend Sea Glass Ink onto my oval to create a sky look. I then add Foam Tape to the back of the oval and mount back over the oval cut out on my panel.

Next, I take the branch die from the Welcome Home Die Set and cut out of Charcoal Brown Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot. I add Foam Tape to the back and mount it over my panel. I then trim off the overhang.

Taking a piece of Kraft Cardstock, I stamp a birdhouse image from the Welcome Home Stamp Set using Amalgam Obsidian Ink

I place my panel into my Scor Buddy and score the front of the birdhouse only at every 1/8" inch. Using the coordinating die From the Welcome Home Die Set I cut out the birdhouse, running them through my Big Shot.

Using a little Masking Magic, I mask off the roof of the birdhouse then take my Faded Brick Ink cube and run it down the front of the birdhouse putting down the ink a little heavier at the top. I then remove the masking paper.

Using my Water Brush, I add some Edible Eggplant Ink to the roof of my birdhouse. I allow a little bit of water to extend past the roof line to leave some water marks. I think this looks good as a shadow. I punch a small hole at the top of my birdhouse and string a piece of twine through. I knot both ends and attach over the branch using Liquid Glue.

Using my Scor Buddy, I score a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Kraft Cardstock at 5 1/2" creating my top folding card base. I add Foam Tape to the back of my panel and mount onto the card base and this completes my card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. This stamp set is just so adorable with these little birdhouses! I love bird watching and listening to all of the different songs the birds sing. Whenever life gets too busy or stressful, just step outside and close your eyes. Listen to all of nature's sounds the Lord has provided for us!

I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
