For You Friend

Hello, welcome to my blog!!

I want to start out by thanking everyone for the support and nice comments you all leave for me. I truly appreciate the support of this blog!! I enjoy card making and bringing my creations to you, this wouldn't be possible without your support, so again, thank you!!!

Today, I have a colorful ink blended card with a white pigment inked background. I will be using The Best Flowers stamp set along with the coordinating dies from Gina K. Designs. I will also be using Gina's inks and cardstock along with the Master Layouts 1 Dies set for quick, even layering of my panels. Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I take the smaller rectangle from the Master Layouts 1 Die Set and cut out of Ivory Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. Using my Blender Brush, I blend Innocent Pink Ink around the center of my panel and fade out towards the outside. I then blend Sweet Mango Ink around the previous color, blending back into it and fading out towards the edges. Finally, I blend Dusty Rose Ink around the edges and corners, blending back into the previous color. I then go back through each color, blending where they meet for a soft blend.

Next, I place the blended panel into my MISTI Stamp Positioner. Taking the Petite Flourish Background Stamp, I ink it up with White Pigment Ink and stamp my panel. I then dry the ink with my Heat Tool.

Taking the biggest rectangle from the Master Layouts 1 Die Set I cut out of Black Onyx Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot. Using Terrific Tape, I adhere my blended panel to the black panel.

Next, I take a piece of Ivory Cardstock and blend a small area using Sweet Mango Ink. I then blend Dusty Rose Ink around the previous color, blending back into it. This will create the background for my flower.

I now blend Jelly Bean Green Ink followed by a little bit of Fresh Asparagus Ink to create a background for my leaves.

Next, I place the panel into my MISTI and place my images from The Best Flowers Stamp Set over the inked areas. I then stamp the images using Amalgam Obsidian Ink.

Taking the coordinating dies from The Best Flowers Die Set I line them up over the stamped images and hold in place using Purple Tape. I then run them through my Big Shot.

Placing a scrap piece of Black Onyx Cardstock into my MISTI and prep with my Anti Static Powder Bag. I then stamp two sentiments from The Best Flowers Stamp Set using Embossing Ink, add White Embossing Powder then heat set with my Heat Tool. I trim the sentiments down to thin strips using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer.

Next, I place a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Dusty Rose Cardstock into my Scor Buddy and score at 4 1/4" creating a side folding card base. I then add Foam Tape to the back of the panels and mount onto my card base.

I take my flower and add two layers of Foam Tape to the back of it and mount it onto my card front. I add Liquid Glue to the biggest leaf cluster and adhere it under my flower. I then add Foam Tape to the other two leaves and mount them, tucking the stems just under the flower. For my sentiments, I add Liquid Glue to the top one and adhere onto the flower. For the second sentiment I add Foam Tape and mount just under the first one. To finish off my card, I use my Jewel Picker to add Water Droplets with Liquid Glue and this completes my card.

Using white pigment ink to stamp over a blended background adds a nice soft look. Whether using a bold stamp or a fine detailed stamp like I used on this card, the white ink shows up beautifully and really gives a unique look to any card! My new kit and goodies from Gina K. Designs arrived today!!! Come back tomorrow when I will be creating a card using a set from the new kit!

Check often as the sales will be frequently changing. I have placed a store logo on the front page of my blog just down below my profile that brings you directly to their store!    *I know die cut machines can be a bigger investment, but if you are in need of one and looking for a good price, Scrapbook.com has some really good prices on Big Shots -  stand alone  machines and bundles.   Today's card project is similar to yesterday's blog post using the shadow stamping technique, but today, I will be using a stencil. I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
