Flower Child Blended Panel

Hello, welcome to my blog!!

I want to start out by thanking everyone for the support and nice comments you all leave for me. I truly appreciate the support of this blog!! I enjoy card making and bringing my creations to you, this wouldn't be possible without your support, so again, thank you!!!

Today, I am playing with the brand new kit from Gina K. Designs! I will be using the set called Flower Child, stamping it over an ink blended panel and white background then popping it up on foam tape to create some dimension. This look could also be achieved by masking the center to blend then stamping over it. However, for today's card I wanted a dimensional look with the stamped image flowing onto the white cardstock. I will be using inks and cardstock from Gina K as well as the Master Layouts 1 & the brand new Master Layouts 2 Die sets. The image I am using today is such a beautiful stamp! Today I needed to create a quick card so I chose to ink blend and just stamp the image in black, which is a beautiful look. I will have another card coming soon where I color the image in bright beautiful colors! Let's get started on today's card!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I take the smaller rectangle from the Master Layouts 1 Die Set and the smaller layering die from the Master Layouts 2 Die Set and cut out of White Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine.

Taking the smaller panel, I blend Applemint Ink onto the top and fade out towards the center a bit, using my Blender Brush. *Fading out towards the next color helps to create a seamless blend.

Next, I blend Ocean Mist Ink blending back into the previous color and fading out towards the bottom of the panel.

For my final color, I blend Lovely Lavender Ink fading back into the previous color. I then go back through each of the colors and blend into each other creating a soft blend.

I now take my bigger previously cut panel and place it into my MISTI Stamp Positioner. I add Adhesive Dot Runner to the back of my blended panel to hold it into place and center it over the bigger panel. Next, I take the image from the Flower Child Stamp Set and center it over the blended panel. I then stamp it over both panels using Amalgam Obsidian Ink pressing firmly around the edges to get good coverage. I ended up stamping the edges twice.

I carefully remove the blended panel and add Foam Tape to the back of it then realign the stamped image over the white panel and press it into place. *A good tip for this step is to add Liquid Glue to the foam tape so you are able to slide the panel around a bit to line up the image.

Using the biggest die from the Master Layouts 1 Die Set, I cut out of Black Onyx Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot. I add Terrific Tape to the back of the white panel and adhere it onto the black panel.

Next, I place a piece of White Cardstock into my MISTI and choose a sentiment from the Flower Child Stamp Set then stamp it using Amalgam Obsidian Ink.

Taking the bigger banner die from the Master Layouts 2 Die Set, I cut out my sentiment, running them through my Big Shot.

Using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer, I cut off the right side of the banner. I then add Foam Tape to the back and mount it onto my card front.

Next, I place a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Ocean Mist Cardstock into my Scor Buddy and score it at 4 1/4" creating a side folding card base. I then add Terrific Tape to the back of my panel and mount it onto the card base.

Using my Jewel Picker, I add Water Droplets with Liquid Glue and this completes my card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. I love these types of images that can be stamped over a blended background, creating a quick and easy card! Gina has such a great variety of inks and they blend together so easily. This image can be used as plain lined art like I did today or it can be colored with any coloring medium. It would also look great stamped tone on tone. Lined art images do not have to be intimidating, there's no rule saying it has to be colored! WOW is what I have to say about this stamp set!! I am so excited to have this card kit and I haven't even dug into the rest of it yet!! In one of my future posts, I will show this same stamp colored with Zig markers.

I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

3D Peony Bundle Embossing Folder W/Oxide Inks

Hello, welcome to my blog!!  I want to start out by thanking everyone for the support and nice comments you all leave for me. I truly appreciate the support of this blog!! I enjoy card making and bringing my creations to you, this wouldn't be possible without your support, so again, thank you!! I'm back!!! For those of you that don't know, I took a couple of weeks off to spend some time with my brand new grand babies!! We were blessed with two more grandsons (who are cousins, their dads are brothers!) that were born only two days apart! We now have three grandsons and one granddaughter and feel so blessed!! Today I am using Distress Oxide inks to watercolor a 3D embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp. I was blown away by the detail of this embossing folder and knew right away that I wanted to watercolor something soft. Having all of these raised areas to color made watercoloring so simple and really took little effort. With all of the dimension of the 3D effect it is easy
