***Gina K. Designs has a new release coming tonight at 7:00 pm (central time)!!! Get ready for more beautiful, quality stamps as Gina never disappoints!! There is a store logo on the front page of my blog in the lower right corner that will take you directly to her site in case you want to take a look around. I will be checking things out myself!

Today's card project focuses on The Majestic Peony stamp set from Gina K. Designs. This is a gorgeous stamp with a large floral bouquet that is fun to color. Today, I change things up a bit. I focus on creating a soft blended background to stamp the huge bouquet on and leaving the outlined image without coloring it. Outlined images do not always have to be colored and today, I will show you a card that is outline only. The card I will be creating is a slim line card, it's finished size is 4" x 6 1/4". Let's get started!!

I start by cutting a 3 1/2" x 5 3/4" panel from Ivory cardstock using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. *I choose to do my ink blending on ivory cardstock to give more muted colors. Using my Blender Brushes, I start with Innocent Pink ink and blend random areas. Next, I blend Dusty Rose ink and finish with Lovely Lavender ink. I go back through each color until I'm satisfied with my blending. To finish off my blending, I add Stormy Sky ink to the corners and edges of my panel.

Oops!!! This picture doesn't seem to show my Lavender ink???!

I now place my blended panel into my MISTI stamp positioner to stamp my image. Using Stormy Sky ink, I stamp the floral image from my Majestic Peony stamp set. To add some interest to my panel, I tap the edges onto my Versamark ink pad, then add Silver embossing powder and heat set with my Heat Tool.

I now mount my blended panel onto a 3 5/8" x 5 7/8" panel of Slate cardstock. I then mount onto a 4" x 6 1/4" Innocent Pink card base.

I prep a 1" x 3 1/2" strip of  Vellum with my Anti Static powder bag and choose a sentiment from the same stamp set. I stamp it onto the vellum using my MISTI stamp positioner with Versamark ink. I then add silver embossing powder and heat set. I now take my embossed vellum strip and press it onto a Double Sided Adhesive Sheet. *I like to use these adhesive sheets when adhering vellum to cardstock to avoid glue showing through. I remove the release paper and press onto a 1" x 3 1/2" strip of Innocent Pink cardstock.

I now mount my sentiment strip onto a 1 1/8" x 3 1/2" strip of Slate cardstock and adhere it to my card front using Foam Tape. I finish off my card by adding Water Droplets using Connect liquid glue and this completes my card.

Line art stamps don't have to be intimidating, If you're not a colorist you can always stamp an image in a dark colored ink over a blended background as I did today. I hope you enjoyed today's card project and come back again tomorrow. I'm off to check out Gina's new release!!!  Fun!!

Shadow Stamping With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog!! ***I wanted to let everyone know that Scrapbook.com has kicked off Freebie February!! Every couple of days they will be offering free items along with great sales! Check often as the sales will be frequently changing. I have placed a store logo on the front page of my blog just down below my profile that brings you directly to their store!    *I know die cut machines can be a bigger investment, but if you are in need of one and looking for a good price, Scrapbook.com has some really good prices on Big Shots -  stand alone  machines and bundles.   Today's card project is similar to yesterday's blog post using the shadow stamping technique, but today, I will be using a stencil. I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
