*I know die cut machines can be a bigger investment, but if you are in need of one and looking for a good price, Scrapbook.com has some really good prices on Big Shots -stand alone machines and bundles.

Today's card project is a birthday card. I'm using a celebrate sentiment, that way it can be used for a birthday or any occasion to celebrate! Shaker cards are fun and the shaker window can be made so many different ways. I will be using rectangle dies to create my window and also to make a frame for my window. Let's get started!!

To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel of Storm Clouds cardstock. Using Hero Arts Infinity Rectangle dies, I cut a window in the top right side of my panel using my Big Shot die cut machine.

I lay my window panel into my MISTI stamp positioner and prep it with my Anti Static powder bag. I choose a greeting from Script Greetings and stamp it using Unicorn White pigment ink. I add White embossing powder and heat set. When the panel is cool, I lightly buff away the anti static powder from the cardstock. I adhere a piece of Acetate a little bigger than my window to the back of my panel.

I now take a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Neenah white cardstock panel to do a little ink blending for the background of my window. Using a Blender Brush, I blend Abandoned Coral, starting light and building up the color, fading out to the white cardstock. Next, I use Picked Raspberry ink to bring in a little more of a pink tone. To add some interest to the blending, using a small paintbrush, I spatter White Gold paint onto the panel. I set aside to dry.

Next, I want to create a frame for my window. Using my rectangle dies, I use the same die that I cut my window, and the next size up. Laying cut side down, I center the dies and use Purple Tape to hold them together and run them through my Big Shot with Mermaid cardstock.

I now cut a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Foam. Using the same size rectangle die as I used for my window, I run the foam through my Big Shot. I adhere the foam to the back side of my window panel.

Using Lawn Fawn Party Balloons, I use the medium size balloons and die cut out of Guava and Peacock cardstock. I cut the balloon strings out of white cardstock. I add a little shading to the balloons by blending Abandoned Coral to the Guava balloon and Peacock Feathers to the Peacock balloon.

Taking a mix of sequins and beads from my stash, I sprinkle them into my window frame. Using Liquid Glue I adhere my blended panel over the shaker window, making sure to press along all of the edges of the window and hold for a few seconds giving the glue time to set up. I like adding liquid glue, as it gives you a little time to move the panel to line things up before the glue sets. **I have many sequins, beads and jewels in my stash, too many to link. However, Scrapbook.com has a great variety to choose from for shaker windows!

I now adhere my shaker panel onto a white card base. I use liquid glue to attach my frame around the shaker window and press into place. I also use a small amount of liquid glue to attach my balloon strings to the back of the balloons. To adhere the balloons to my card, I use Foam Circles for a little dimension and this completes my card.

Shaker cards are fun to make, and people love receiving them! I love using Infinity Dies  for shaker cards, as you are always able to create the perfect size frame for the window. There are circles, rectangles, ovals and hearts to name just a few in the Infinity collection.

Shadow Stamping With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog!! ***I wanted to let everyone know that Scrapbook.com has kicked off Freebie February!! Every couple of days they will be offering free items along with great sales! Check often as the sales will be frequently changing. I have placed a store logo on the front page of my blog just down below my profile that brings you directly to their store!    *I know die cut machines can be a bigger investment, but if you are in need of one and looking for a good price, Scrapbook.com has some really good prices on Big Shots -  stand alone  machines and bundles.   Today's card project is similar to yesterday's blog post using the shadow stamping technique, but today, I will be using a stencil. I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
