Hello, welcome to my blog!
I hope you had a nice weekend and your week is off to a great start! Today's card project features Altenew's Mega Hello die. This is a beautiful die that is really HUGE!! It fits across an A2 card in the landscape orientation. I love creating beautiful backgrounds and putting a big sentiment across the front and this die is perfect for that! Altenew has many sentiment dies in their "Mega" line, also coordinating stamp sets to go with them, as well as stand alone letters and numbers. Right now at Scrapbook.com you can find these dies at a reduced price!
Let's get started!!
To start, I cut a 4" x 5 1/4" Neenah white cardstock panel and tape it to the back of my Hearts stencil using Purple Tape. I will be using 4 colors of distress ink to create 6 different colors for my ink blending. Using my Blender Brush, I begin my blending with Picked Raspberry and start at the top left corner of my panel working my way diagonally through 2 rows of hearts then blend lightly, fading out into the next row. Next, I add Squeezed Lemonade and blend this onto the next 3 rows, blending back onto the last pink row to create orange. Next, I add Peacock Feathers to the next 2 rows, blending back onto the yellow which creates my green color. For my last color I add Wilted Violet.
Leaving my panel taped to the stencil, I wipe all of the ink off of the stencil. For the next step, I take my Versamark ink pad and gently press into all of my inked hearts. Once all hearts are inked, I carefully remove my panel from the stencil and add Clear embossing powder then heat set with my Wagner heat tool. Next, I adhere to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white card base.
Taking a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white panel, I blend Wilted Violet. I blend ink heavier at the top, fading out half way down the panel to create an ombre effect. To add further darkness and depth to the purple, I add Black Soot to just the very top edge and corners. I then go back with Wilted Violet to blend.
I now take my Mega Hello die and run it, along with my blended panel through my Big Shot die cut machine, keeping the blended bits that pop out, along with the panel. I also die cut once out of white cardstock. I stack and glue my sentiment using Liquid Glue. To finish off my sentiment, I ink with Versamark, add clear embossing powder and heat set.
Using Foam Strips, I attach my sentiment onto my stenciled card front. Using Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words, I stamp with Versafine Clair Nocturn ink using my MISTI stamp positioner onto a white cardstock strip. I cut the ends at an angle and glue on top of my sentiment. To finish, I added jewels from Lucy's Cards Rainbow Sparkle.
Taking my purple blended panel, I attach it to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white card base. Using the white Mega Hello die cut, I temporarily place it back into the blended panel as a guide to glue the small pieces back into place then remove the die cut. Using the same Tiny Words stamp set, I stamp a greeting using Versafine Clair Nocturn ink onto a strip of white cardstock, trim the ends and mount onto the front of my card using foam strips. To finish this card, I added Water Droplets.
This completes today's card project. Using one die to get two cards is something I love to do. You can create two cards quickly and nothing goes to waste! I hope you enjoyed these cards and give it a try for yourself.
