Sparkle & Shine Snowflake

Hello, welcome to my blog!!

I want to start out by thanking everyone for the support and nice comments you all leave for me. I truly appreciate the support of this blog!! I enjoy card making and bringing my creations to you, this wouldn't be possible without your support, so again, thank you!!!

FYI... for those who have been waiting for the Lovely Lotus stamp set to be restocked, it is back in stock!!

***UPDATE*** THESE SETS ARE BACK IN STOCK!!!

Today I have another card made with the Sparkle & Shine stamp set from Gina K. Designs! This is a beautiful stamp set that includes three bold split images with an area to stamp one of four greetings within the image included in the set. There are also small images included as well as a topper to turn the large images into ornaments. I will be using the large snowflake image to create an ornament on my card. Instead of stamping the greeting into the opening of the snowflake I will stamp it and cut it out using a banner die from the Master Layouts 3 die set that is the perfect size to fit in the opening. I've said it before, I LOVE these new stamp sets from Gina K. As of now the new sets are out of stock, but should be restocked in the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye out if you are interested in any of these sets. I will be sure to alert everyone when I see the new sets back in stock! To highlight my image, I will be doing some ink blending around the edges of my panel creating a highlighted area for a backdrop.

I was gifted a "Stamin Bug" from a crafty friend that I used with my stamping on today's card, I will provide a photo of it below. This tool fits comfortably into the hand and helps provide even pressure over the door of a stamping platform (in my case the MISTI) to get a good, crisp image when stamping. With a felt bottom, the Stampin Bug glides with ease and provides added pressure without straining your hand. If anyone is interested in checking out this product, I will link it HERE. ***I was gifted this product with no expectations. However, I wanted to share it with my followers because I find it very helpful! Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I take the biggest stitched square die from the Master Layouts 3 Die Set and cut out of Plum Punch Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine

I then place the panel into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and prep it with my Anti Static Powder Bag. Next, I choose an image from the Sparkle & Shine Stamp Set and ink it with Versamark Ink. Here is where I use the Stampin Bug to apply pressure by gliding it over the door of my MISTI and image, stamping the image onto my panel. I then add Gold Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool.

Using my Blender Brushes, I blend Plum Punch Ink around the sides and corners of my panel, fading in towards the image a bit. I then blend Edible Eggplant Ink to the sides and corners, blending into the previous color while being careful not to cover all of it up. For added depth, I blend Black Onyx Ink to the very edges of the panel.

I now place the panel back into my MISTI and prep the top center of the snowflake with my Anti Static Powder Bag. I then take the topper image from the Sparkle & Shine Stamp Set and line it up over the center point of the snowflake image. I stamp it using Versamark Ink, add Gold Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool. *I use a dry paintbrush to brush away any embossing powder that sticks to the blended ink that may not be completely dry before heat embossing.

Taking the string image from the Sparkle & Shine Stamp Set, I flip it upside down and position it onto the very top of the topper image. I then stamp it using Versamark Ink, add Gold Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool.

Taking the layering die from the Master Layouts 3 Die Set, I cut out of Plum Punch Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot. I then use the side of my Versamark Ink pad and drag it down the side of the panel. I add Gold Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool. I repeat this process for the other three sides of the panel. I now have a coordinating gold panel to layer my embossed panel onto. Using Terrific Tape I adhere the two panels together. *Adding gold or silver embossing powder to a layered background is a great and inexpensive way to achieve a metallic paper look!

Next, I place a 4 1/2" x 9" piece of Plum Punch Cardstock into my Scor Buddy and score at 4 1/2" creating a square top folding card base. I then add Foam Tape to the back of my panel and mount it onto the card base.

For my greeting, I place a piece of Plum Punch Cardstock into my MISTI and prep it with my Anti Static Powder Bag. I then choose a greeting from the Sparkle & Shine Stamp Set and stamp it using Versamark Ink. I add Gold Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool. Taking a banner die from the Master Layouts 3 Die Set I cut out the greeting, running them through my Big ShotI add a thin piece of Foam Tape to the back of my greeting and mount over the center opening of the snowflake.

Using my Jewel Picker, I add Dazzling Diamond Rhinestones with Liquid Glue and this completes my card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. I've been having a lot of fun creating with these new sets! I love the bold solid images of these sets that are so easy to create a simple card, yet gives such an elegant look!! It's going to be a challenge trying to decide which design to use for this years Christmas card... I may have to make a variety!

Shadow Stamping With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog!! ***I wanted to let everyone know that Scrapbook.com has kicked off Freebie February!! Every couple of days they will be offering free items along with great sales! Check often as the sales will be frequently changing. I have placed a store logo on the front page of my blog just down below my profile that brings you directly to their store!    *I know die cut machines can be a bigger investment, but if you are in need of one and looking for a good price, Scrapbook.com has some really good prices on Big Shots -  stand alone  machines and bundles.   Today's card project is similar to yesterday's blog post using the shadow stamping technique, but today, I will be using a stencil. I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
