Merry & Bright

Hello, welcome to my blog!!

I want to start out by thanking everyone for the support and nice comments you all leave for me. I truly appreciate the support of this blog!! I enjoy card making and bringing my creations to you, this wouldn't be possible without your support, so again, thank you!!!

Today I have for you a Christmas card using non traditional colors. This card could easily be transformed into a gift tag as well! I will be using the Holiday Tag Sentiments stamp set from Altenew to create my greeting (this is an awesome set filled with so many beautiful script greetings that are the perfect size for creating tags). I will also be using the Layered Snowflake dies from Pinkfresh Studio along with the Holiday Lights die set to embellish my card. To add some texture to my card I will be using Moonstone Glimmer Paste from Nuvo to add a sparkly snowfall for a backdrop. I will be using the Master Layouts 2 die set from Gina K. Designs to layer my panels, the cardstock I use is also from Gina K. Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I take the biggest stitched die from the Master Layouts 2 Die Set and cut out of Key Lime Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine.

Taking my Speckles Stencil I adhere it over my panel, holding it in place using Purple Tape. I then add Moonstone Glimmer Paste over the stencil and use my Palette Knife to smooth out the paste over the entire panel. I then return any unused paste back to the jar, reseal and close. I carefully remove the stencil from the panel and set it aside to dry, about 1/2 hour. I immediately wash my stencil and palette knife with warm soapy water. *To keep my paste from drying out I place a piece of Press N' Seal wrap (found at Walmart and other stores) over the top the screw the lid on. This helps to keep the air out of the container and prevents the product from drying out.

Next, I take the layering die from the Master Layouts 2 Die Set and cut out of White Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot. Once my panel is completely dry I use Double Sided Tape and adhere it to the white panel. I then add Foam Tape to the back and mount the panel onto a Passionate Pink Cardstock side folding card base.

Using the Layered Snowflakes Die Set, I take three of the dies and cut out of Vellum, running them through my Big Shot. Using my Craft Pick I remove all of the bits from the snowflake die cuts. Adding very small dots of Liquid Glue to the back of the die cuts I adhere them onto my panel, pressing and holding down with my finger until the glue sets a bit.

For my greeting, I place a piece of Vellum into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and prep with my Anti Static Powder Bag. I then stamp a greeting from the Holiday Tag Sentiments Stamp Set using Versamark Ink, add Gold Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat ToolNext, I cut out my greeting using a small die from the Stitched Circles Die Set. I also cut out of White Cardstock using a small die from the Infinity Circles Die Set, running them both through my Big Shot.

Using my Double Sided Adhesive Roll, I place the greeting die cut onto the adhesive and rub my finger around the entire circle to remove any air bubbles. I then use my Razor Shears to cut closely around the die cut removing the excess. Next, I remove the release paper from the adhesive and fold back onto the back of the greeting any adhesive overhang and mount it over the white circle die cut. I then add Foam Tape to the back and adhere onto my card front. *Using the wide double sided adhesive on the vellum gives even coverage so the adhesive doesn't show through the vellum.

Taking the Holiday Lights Die Set I use the holly dies and cut out of Key Lime Cardstock and Passionate Pink Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot. Using Liquid Glue I adhere the berries onto the holly leaves. I add a little shading by blending Twisted Citron Distress Ink with my Blender Brush onto the edges of the leaves.

Next, I use my Gel Pen to add highlight details to the berries. Using Liquid Glue I adhere the single leaf to the cluster then adhere onto my greeting.

Using my Jewel Picker I add Dazzling Diamond Rhinestones with Liquid Glue and this completes my card.

I wish you could see the actual sparkle and look of this card in real life, it is so hard to capture in photos! I just love these layering snowflake dies and the holiday tag sentiments, my goal is to throw together some gift tags soon before time gets away. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, come back on Monday for another fun card project!

I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

3D Peony Bundle Embossing Folder W/Oxide Inks

Hello, welcome to my blog!!  I want to start out by thanking everyone for the support and nice comments you all leave for me. I truly appreciate the support of this blog!! I enjoy card making and bringing my creations to you, this wouldn't be possible without your support, so again, thank you!! I'm back!!! For those of you that don't know, I took a couple of weeks off to spend some time with my brand new grand babies!! We were blessed with two more grandsons (who are cousins, their dads are brothers!) that were born only two days apart! We now have three grandsons and one granddaughter and feel so blessed!! Today I am using Distress Oxide inks to watercolor a 3D embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp. I was blown away by the detail of this embossing folder and knew right away that I wanted to watercolor something soft. Having all of these raised areas to color made watercoloring so simple and really took little effort. With all of the dimension of the 3D effect it is easy
