Today I have a sparkly inlaid snowflake card for you using the Layered Snowflakes die set from Pinkfresh Studio. To create my inlay I will be using the shadow die from the coordinating snowflakes to created a framed are to inlay the snowflakes. I love the delicate designs of this die set and there are so many choices! I will be using Distress Ink to create a soft backdrop for my snowflakes. I wish I could capture for you in my photos the sparkle from this glitter cardstock, it looks like liquid silver!! Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I cut a 3 3/4" x 5 1/2" panel out of Neenah White Cardstock using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer. I then take five of the shadow dies from the Layered Snowflake Dies Set and arrange them onto the panel holding down with Purple Tape and run the panel through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine.

To add some texture to the panel, I place it into my Jeweled Snowflakes 3D Embossing Folder and run it through my Big Shot. *Be sure to check the sandwich order for your machine when using 3D embossing folders.

Next, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel out of Neenah White Cardstock using my Guillotine Paper Trimmer. Taking a Blender Brush, I blend Tumbled Glass Distress Ink onto the entire panel. This doesn't have to be an even blend, I am just laying down color for my backdrop.

I now add Liquid Glue to the back of my embossed panel being sure to add the glue to all four sides as well as around all of the snowflake cut out areas. I then center it over my blended panel and press it into place. I place something heavy over it and let it adhere for a couple of minutes. I then use Double Sided Tape and adhere my panel onto a white cardstock card base.

Taking the coordinating snowflake dies from the Layered Snowflakes Die Set for each of the shadow dies I used, I cut out of Silver Glitter Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot. I then use my Craft Pick to poke out all of the small pieces from the die cuts. *When die cutting with intricate dies I place a Metal Adapter Plate under my cutting plate.

Using Liquid Glue, I add glue to only the centers of the snowflake die cuts. I then line them up and adhere them into each of the coordinating shadow die cut areas of my panel.

Taking the same Silver Glitter Cardstock, I use my Guillotine Paper Trimmer to cut two very thin pieces. I then add very small dots of Liquid Glue to the back of the strips and adhere them up against the edges of the embossed panel on each side. I then trim off any overhang.

For my sentiment I use my Blender Brush to blend Tumbled Glass Distress Ink onto a scrap piece of white cardstock then place it into my MISTI Stamp Positioner. Next, I choose a sentiment from the Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set and stamp it onto my blended piece using Versafine Clair Nocturn Ink.

Using my Guillotine Paper Trimmer, I trim my sentiment down to a thin strip and angle cut the ends. To give my sentiment some dimension, I glue thin strips of scrap cardstock to the back. I then add Liquid Glue to the back of the sentiment and mount it over the center snowflake on the front of my card.

I use my Jewel Picker to add Dazzling Diamond Rhinestones to the center of my snowflake die cuts using Liquid Glue and this completes my card. *I took a close up of the glitter cardstock to try and show you the sparkle more.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. I was very pleased with the look of the glitter cardstock against the pale blue color giving this card such a soft look! I love to create cards that have just a hint of color, and this particular shade allowed the glitter cardstock to be the star of the show!!

3D Peony Bundle Embossing Folder W/Oxide Inks

Hello, welcome to my blog!!  I want to start out by thanking everyone for the support and nice comments you all leave for me. I truly appreciate the support of this blog!! I enjoy card making and bringing my creations to you, this wouldn't be possible without your support, so again, thank you!! I'm back!!! For those of you that don't know, I took a couple of weeks off to spend some time with my brand new grand babies!! We were blessed with two more grandsons (who are cousins, their dads are brothers!) that were born only two days apart! We now have three grandsons and one granddaughter and feel so blessed!! Today I am using Distress Oxide inks to watercolor a 3D embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp. I was blown away by the detail of this embossing folder and knew right away that I wanted to watercolor something soft. Having all of these raised areas to color made watercoloring so simple and really took little effort. With all of the dimension of the 3D effect it is easy...
