Gift Card Tag Card

Hello, welcome to my blog!!

I want to start out by thanking everyone for the support and nice comments you all leave for me. I truly appreciate the support of this blog!! I enjoy card making and bringing my creations to you, this wouldn't be possible without your support, so again, thank you!!!

FYI... for those who have been waiting for the Lovely Lotus stamp set to be restocked... it is back in stock!!

***UPDATE*** THESE SETS ARE BACK IN STOCK!!!

Today I have for you a fun card featuring a tag that holds a gift card! I will be using ink, cardstock, stamps and dies all from Gina K. Designs. The stamps and dies used on today's card are all part of a kit that is now sold out. However, all of the stamp sets and dies from that kit will be available to purchase separately within the next couple of weeks! I will let my followers know when these are back in stock via my blog, Facebook and Instagram. Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel out of Sea Glass Cardstock using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer. I then place the panel into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and stamp it with snowflakes from the Ornamental Snowflakes Stamp Set using Sea Glass Ink.

Next, I cut a 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" piece of Vellum using my Guillotine Paper Trimmer. I then place the piece of Vellum over the lower half of my stamped panel and place the biggest tag die from the Tag Trio Die Set over them, using Purple Tape to hold them in place and run them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine.

Placing the Vellum piece into my MISTI, I prep it with my Anti Static Powder Bag and stamp a greeting from the Holiday Tapestry Stamp Set with Versamark Ink. I then add Silver Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool. *When embossing on vellum I like to heat the embossing powder from the back side of the vellum. This helps to melt the powder without blowing it around.

I end up stamping another snowflake on the top right corner of my tag to balance out the images. Using Liquid Glue, I add very small dots around the lower sides and bottom of the tag. I then place the embossed Vellum piece over the tag and press around the glued edges firmly. This creates a pocket to hold my gift card.

Next, I take the Snowflake Trio Die Set and cut out of Red Velvet Cardstock, running them through my Big ShotI then cut a 4" x 5 1/4" panel out of Red Velvet Cardstock using my Guillotine Paper Trimmer. Using Liquid Glue, I start to adhere the die cuts onto the red panel. The tag will cover most of the panel so I don't need to cover the center. I cut the snowflake die cuts apart so that I will have extra pieces to fill in around the tag after the tag is adhered. ***When using intricate dies, I place a Metal Adaptor Plate under my bottom cutting plate to get a clean cut.

I now place a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of White Cardstock into my Scor Buddy and score at 4 1/4" creating a side folding card base. Using Terrific Tape I adhere my red panel onto the card base.

I add a piece of bakers twine from my stash to the tag and add Foam Tape to the back then adhere it at an angle to my card front. Using Liquid Glue and tuck and adhere the remaining pieces of the snowflake die cuts to fill in around the tag. I then add some Wink Of Stella to all of the snowflake die cuts for a little sparkle. To finish, I use my Jewel Picker to add some Dew Drops with Liquid Glue then tuck a gift card into the vellum pocket and this completes me card.

This was such a fun card to make! I love using non traditional colors for my Christmas cards with turquoise and red being one of my favorites. It just so happened the gift card I had was the same colors! This would be a fun card to give to coworkers, friends, babysitters or even mail carriers thanking them for all the fun goodies they deliver to us!! I will not be posting a card on Friday, but come back on Monday for another fun card project!

Check often as the sales will be frequently changing. I have placed a store logo on the front page of my blog just down below my profile that brings you directly to their store!    *I know die cut machines can be a bigger investment, but if you are in need of one and looking for a good price, Scrapbook.com has some really good prices on Big Shots -  stand alone  machines and bundles.   Today's card project is similar to yesterday's blog post using the shadow stamping technique, but today, I will be using a stencil. I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
