Sending Love

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

I hope everyone's week is off to a good start! Today's project focuses on die cut inlay. I will be showing you a card that can be sent to let someone you know that you are thinking of them, or could even be used as a Valentine's Day card. This is a versatile die that can be used with many different color combos and can even be used with some fun glitter cardstock. Let's get started!

I start out by cutting down a panel of Neenah white cardstock to be 4" x 5 1/4". I then center my die towards the top of the panel using the Hearts Alive Wafer Die by Simon Says Stamp and run through my Big Shot die cut machine. I also cut out with the same die, three different colors of cardstock. I chose Mermaid by Lawn Fawn, Soft Stone by Gina K. Designs and Cupcake by Taylored Expressions.

The next step is to attach our white panel onto a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base, I chose Cupcake cardstock. I then figure out which colors I want where. I like to lay everything out before I start gluing into place. I then add Connect Liquid Glue by Gina K. Designs to each opening of the die cut image and start gluing my pieces into place.
*** I thought I would stamp the Love sentiment onto the white panel but didn't like how it turned out. I will show you in the next step how I fixed that!

As I mentioned, I did not like the way the stamped Love image looked, I wanted it to stand out more. I decided to die cut the same Love image from the Love Stamp & Cut by Hero Arts. I cut this out three times using Storm Cloud cardstock by Lawn Fawn. I then stacked and glued the three pieces together using my Connect Glue and glued it down over the stamped image, making sure to cover it completely. I liked this look much better and you could never tell it was first stamped! I stamped the sentiment "Sending You" from the same stamp set onto a strip of Cupcake cardstock and glued it onto the front panel to complete this card. I thought of adding some sequins to add a little sparkle, but decided I liked the clean and simple look of the soft colors against the white on their own.

This completes today's project. I hope you enjoyed this card and it encourages you to look at what you have for dies and do a little inlay die cutting for yourself. It's a fun technique and adds a whole new look to your dies.

As always, if you have and questions, comments or suggestions for future projects you would like to see, you can leave them in the comments section.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I will be back tomorrow with another card project.

Happy Stamping!!
Jeannie

The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
