Gnome Lip Balm Tag

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I will show you how to make a Gnome Lip Balm Tag. Gnomes are the newest craze that you see everywhere! This tag would look great hanging on a gift or even for a Secret Santa gift! Let's get started!

I started with using Versamark ink to create a snowflake background on the tags using the Delicate Snowflake Background Stamp from Gina K Designs with my Original MISTI stamp platform from My Sweet Petunia.

Next, I added some splatters using a small paint brush with acrylic paint diluted with a little water.

The next step is to line up the window die from the Lip Balm Window & Frame Die-namics from My Favorite Things and run it throuh my Big Shot die cutting machine from Sizzix. I also cut out a red frame piece using the frame die from the set.

Next, we need to create the snow hill for the gnome to stand on. I used the Snow Drift Die-namics from My Favorite Things out of white cardstock. Be sure your white piece is the same width as the tag you are using. You can make your snow hill as tall as you'd like.

We now need to cut away room for the frame to fit. I lined up the die and took a pencil to lightly draw around the bottom part of the red frame, then lined up the window die, taped it down and ran it through the die cutting machine. I then glued it onto the tag. ***In hindsight, I would have attached the snow hill to the tag and then placed the frame die over the tag and snow hill and ran it through my Big Shot back and forth a couple of times to cut through both layers at once***. Once the snow hill was attached to the tag, I stamped a greeting from the Tiny Tag Sayings stamp set from Lawn Fawn.

Now for the fun part, let's create our cute little gnome! I used the Lil Gnome Wafer Die from Simon Says Stamp and cut out several colors of cardstock to mix and match using my die cutting machine. I also cut out the backer for the gnome using dark brown cardstock. Using Connect Liquid Glue from Gina K Designs. I like using Connect glue for assembling the gnome as this glue dries clear and doesn't leave a sticky residue, I love this glue!!

It is now time to assemble the tag! I applied liquid glue to the top rim of the Lip Balm Pouch from My Favorite Things. I inserted the pouch through the tag opening and pressed it against the tag, holding it for a few seconds to help it adhere. I then added some glue to the red frame and pressed it into place around the pouch. *You could also use a fine double sided tape instead of liquid glue for this step.

Taking another tag of the same size, I stamped "To" and "From" on the back side, I then inserted the lip balm ino the pouch and glued the two tags together making sure the To and From shows on the back side. I added some red and white bakers twine to the top of the tag and the tag is now finished!

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
