Last Minute Money Holder

Hello, and welcome back!

Today's project is a last minute money holder, and by last minute, I mean LAST minute! LOL!! Being so close to Christmas, this is the perfect project for money giving gifts. These holders are very quick to make and can be decorated as simple or as elaborate as you choose to make them.
Let's get started!

To start, I took an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of cardstock. I cut this down to 7 3/4" long x 6 3/4" wide, using my 12" Fiskars Paper Trimmer. I then use my Scor Buddy and score at 2 3/8" and 5 1/8" along the width of my cardstock. I turn my cardstock the tall way now and score at 6 1/2" and 1/4".

Now, I cut in at small angles to the score lines, to create tabs so that the card will fold neatly. For the top flap, I cut at a slight angle up to the score line.

Next, I fold and crease with my Teflon Bone Folder all of the score lines. When folding on score lines, you should fold away from your score lines, where it is indented, as this is where the fibers are broken down and you will get the best fold. After everything is creased, I then add adhesive on the tabs. I use double sided Scor Tape that is very thin, remove the release paper and fold together, pressing firmly. *I like to add a small amount of Gina K. Designs Connect Liquid Glue to the bottom of the bottom tab so when it's folded up, it has extra strength.

Now I get to dress up the money holder! I have chosen to add snow drifts and little critters. I take white cardstock about 6 1/4" wide and 3" tall (depending how tall you want your snow drifts to be) and cut a couple of snow drifts using My Favorite Things Stitched Snow /Drifts Die-Namics,running it through my Big Shot die cut machine. Next, I use Lawn Fawn Say What Christmas Critters stamp set and stamp out several critters, then color with my Copic markers. You can use any coloring medium you'd like. For the white part of the penguin and the white unicorn body, I used Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen to color. This adds a nice shimmer to any area that isn't colored, instead of leaving it just plain. I then cut out all of the critters using the coordinating Lawn Fawn Say What Christmas Critters Die Cuts, running them through my Big Shot. After I have everything cut, I like to lay out my snow drifts and do any trimming needed to get the heights I want. Next, I stamp a greeting on the front snow drift using Lawn Fawn Say What Christmas Critters stamp set. I then glue down the snow drifts and critters. To add a final touch, I stamp "Handmade With Love" from Gina K. Designs. I couldn't find this particular set I used, so I've added a link to a set that is close...  Gina K. Designs Stuffed With Love.

This finishes off today's project. I hope you found this useful and that it gives you some ideas to dress up your gift giving. Handmade touches add so much gifts!

I appreciate you stopping by my blog. If you have any questions or comments, please leave them in the comment section. I hope to be back on Monday with another project before the holidays. If life gets too busy, I will be back after Christmas to share more fun.

I wish all of you a very blessed Christmas and a wonderful, New Year!

Happy Stamping!!

I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
