Today I have a very simple card that uses a raised image technique for a little added interest. I wanted to create a clean and simple card with a focal image. To do this I used stacked dies to give dimension which allows my focal image to stand out without disrupting the design. I will do all of the stamping first then die cut my focal image, this way when the image is placed back onto my card the stamped image is uninterrupted. This is a great way to add interest to a simple design. All of the stamps, inks and cardstock I use are from Gina K. Designs. Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start I take the second largest die from the Master Layouts 1 Die Set and cut out of White Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut machine. I then place the panel into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and take an image from the Tiny Textures Stamp Set and line it up on the center of my panel. I then stamp this image using Lemon Drop Ink. *When centering multiple images on a card, I like to first stamp the center image, that way it is easier to line up the other images on either side for overall stamped centering.

Using the same image from the Tiny Textures Stamp Set, I line it up to the left of the previous stamped image. I then stamp it onto the panel using Moonlit Fog Ink. I then line up the same image to the right of the center stamped image and again stamp it using Moonlit Fog Ink.

Next, I take three images from the Take Care Stamp Set and place them over each previously stamped image and stamp them using Amalgam Obsidian Black Ink. *I ended up stamping these images two times to get good crisp images.

Taking the die I will be using in the next step, I center it over my center floral image to figure out my stamp placement. I then take a greeting from the Take Care Stamp Set and center it just below the die. I then remove the die and stamp the greeting onto my panel using Amalgam Obsidian Black Ink.

Next, I take that same die from the Master Layouts 4 Die Set and center it back over the center floral image and run it through my Big Shot.

To add a little interest and texture to my panel I place the die cut back into the panel. I then add a drop of Black Soot Distress Paint onto my Glass Mat along with a small amount of water. I mix the water into the paint to thin it out just a bit then use a small paintbrush to lightly spatter my panel and set it aside to dry for a few minutes.

Taking the largest layering die from the Master Layouts 1 Die Set I cut out of Black Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot. Using Liquid Glue I adhere my stamped panel onto the black panel. I then place a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Lemon Drop Cardstock into my Scor Buddy and score it at 4 1/4" creating a side folding card base. I then use Liquid Glue to adhere my panel onto the card base.

Using the same die from the Master Layouts 4 Die Set that I previously cut from my panel, I cut out of White Cardstock five times running them through my Big Shot. I stack and glue the white die cuts together using Liquid Glue the glue the stamped die cut on top. Finally, I glue the stacked die cuts back into the opening on my card front using Liquid Glue.

To finish, I use my Jewel Picker to add some Dew Drops with Liquid Glue and this completes my card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. I love the simplicity of these two stamp sets together. By popping the center image up it adds something a little extra to what would have been a plain card. I think this card design (without the center popped up) would make a great set of thank you cards as a shower gift that could be color coordinated for the occasion.

Check often as the sales will be frequently changing. I have placed a store logo on the front page of my blog just down below my profile that brings you directly to their store!    *I know die cut machines can be a bigger investment, but if you are in need of one and looking for a good price, Scrapbook.com has some really good prices on Big Shots -  stand alone  machines and bundles.   Today's card project is similar to yesterday's blog post using the shadow stamping technique, but today, I will be using a stencil. I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
