Beautiful Wings - See Through Image

Hello, welcome to my blog!!

I want to start out by thanking everyone for the support and nice comments you all leave for me. I truly appreciate the support of this blog!! I enjoy card making and bringing my creations to you, this wouldn't be possible without your support, so again, thank you!!

Today I have for you a card using a BRAND NEW stamp set from Gina K. Designs!! I am thrilled to be part of Gina's guest design team for this month's release!! Gina's new release goes live tonight at 7:00pm CST. For today's card I will be using the Beautiful Wings stamp set designed my Melanie Muenchinger for Gina K Designs. This is a big 6 x 8 stamp set filled with dragonflies, lady bugs and a couple of big beautiful moths as well as uplifting sentiments. There are also some grass elements and an octagon shaped image that would be great for creating borders and designs. There are also coordinating dies available to purchase for this set. For those of you that love the Master Layout die sets, Gina has the fourth set debuting in tonight's release that I know you are going to love!! I will also be using the largest die from the new Master Layouts 4 die set on today's card. I have a Gina K Designs store logo located on the lower right side of my blog that takes you directly to her store. Once there click on "What's New" to see all of the items from tonight's release. *Affiliate links used at no additional cost to you, thank you so much for your support!! Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I cut two 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panels out of White Cardstock using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer and place one of the panels into the bottom right corner of my MISTI Stamp Positioner. Taking an image from the Tiny Textures Stamp Set I line it up towards the bottom of the panel. I ink up the image with Kraft Ink and stamp it onto the panel. Leaving the image attached to the door of my MISTI I remove the stamped panel and place my second panel into the same bottom right corner of the MISTI, I again ink up the image with Kraft Ink and stamp it onto the second panel. *By placing my panel(s) into the same corner of my MISTI, it assures the image will be stamped in the exact same spot on both panels. I want to create two panels with identical stamping.

After stamping both panels, I clean my stamp and move it up the panel just a bit. I then ink up the image using Sea Glass Ink and stamp it onto both panels. I again clean off the stamp, move the image up a bit then stamp both panels again, repeating with each color. I now have two panels with the exact same positioning of the stamped images.

Next, I place one of the panels into my MISTI. I then place at an angle the biggest image from the Beautiful Wings Stamp Set. I want my image to hang off the panel of my finished card just a bit, so I be sure to position it a little towards the right side of the colored stamping. I use Amalgam Obsidian Black Ink and stamp my image onto the panel then set it aside to dry for a few minutes.

Taking the stitched scallop die from my Master Layouts 4 Die Set I position it over one of the panels. Holding the die in place with Purple Tape I run it through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine.

Once my stamped image is completely dry, I take the coordinating die from the Beautiful Wings Die Set and position it over my image. Holding the die in place with Purple Tape I run them through my Big Shot

Now it's time to stamp my sentiment. I place my scalloped panel into my MISTI and temporarily line up my stamped image to figure out my sentiment placement. I then stamp a sentiment from the Beautiful Wings Stamp Set using Amalgam Obsidian Black Ink

Next, I place a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Kraft Cardstock into my Scor Buddy and score it at 5 1/2" creating a top folding card base. I then use Foam Tape to mount my stamped panel onto the card base.

I add Foam Tape to the back of my image then add some Liquid Glue onto the foam before mounting it onto my card front. *Because I want to line up the colored stamping on my image to the background stamping, adding liquid glue over the foam tape allows me time to lay down my image and move it into the correct position making sure everything is lined up. The background now runs through the entire image even though it is popped up and hanging over the edge, giving it a see through look.

To finish, I use my Jewel Picker to add some Dew Drops with Liquid Glue and this completes my card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card using the brand new Beautiful Wings stamp set. I love the realistic details of these images in this set and the image I used today is my favorite!! These are the kind of images I love to use over beautiful backgrounds. Because of the bigger sizes, the boldness and details of these designs, stamping them in black ink over ink blended backgrounds gives a beautiful look for a simple card. These images would look great colored as well as stamped for a tone on tone look. Throughout the next few weeks I will be showing more cards that can be created using this set!

Shadow Stamping With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog!! ***I wanted to let everyone know that Scrapbook.com has kicked off Freebie February!! Every couple of days they will be offering free items along with great sales! Check often as the sales will be frequently changing. I have placed a store logo on the front page of my blog just down below my profile that brings you directly to their store!    *I know die cut machines can be a bigger investment, but if you are in need of one and looking for a good price, Scrapbook.com has some really good prices on Big Shots -  stand alone  machines and bundles.   Today's card project is similar to yesterday's blog post using the shadow stamping technique, but today, I will be using a stencil. I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
