Elegant Wedding - Holiday Tapestry

Hello, welcome to my blog!!

I want to start out by thanking everyone for the support and nice comments you all leave for me. I truly appreciate the support of this blog!! I enjoy card making and bringing my creations to you, this wouldn't be possible without your support, so again, thank you!!!

Today I have an elegant wedding card using the Holiday Tapestry stamp set from Gina K Designs. I wanted to use this set to create something other than a holiday card to show it's versatility. The designs in this set are so beautiful and elegant I thought it would be perfect for creating a wedding card. I love embossing these images with metallic embossing powders, I couldn't decide between the gold or silver so I thought I would go with both. Gold and silver embossed on the slate cardstock created the perfect look! This stamp set has been very popular and is so versatile!! All of the stamps, inks and cardstock I use today are from Gina K Designs. Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I use the second biggest die from the Master Layouts 1 Die Set and cut out of Slate Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I then place the panel into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and position a stamp from the Holiday Tapestry Stamp Set along the very edge of the panel. Next, I prep the panel with my Anti Static Powder Bag and stamp the image using Versamark Ink. ***I make note of where the panel is placed in my MISTI as I will be stamping the other side and want the design to be even. It is at the 1/2" mark in this case.

Using a small plastic spoon I scatter small amounts of Gold Embossing Powder, making sure not to cover all of the areas, then tap the excess powder off of the panel. I then fill in with Silver Embossing Powder the rest of the open areas and again tap off the excess powder. I go back to the gold then the silver again to make sure the entire design is covered well then heat set with my Heat Tool.

I now place the panel back into my MISTI at the same 1/2" mark and again prep the it with my Anti Static Powder Bag. I ink up the image with Versamark Ink and stamp it onto the left side of the panel then repeat the process with the gold and silver embossing powders and heat set with my Heat Tool.

Next, I cut one 2" x 5" and one 1 7/8" x 5" panel out of the same Slate Cardstock using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer. Taking the 2" panel, I drag my Versamark Ink pad down the side of it and add Silver Embossing Powder then heat set with my Heat Tool. I repeat the process for the other side as well.

For the 1 7/8" panel, I take out my Petite Flourishes Background Stamp and lay it onto my work surface, stamp side up. I ink up the center portion of the stamp using Black Onyx Ink then place my panel over the inked area. I then place a piece of copy paper over the panel and stamp then use my hand to rub even pressure over the panel. I carefully lift up the panel and remove it from the stamp.

Using Terrific Tape I adhere my 1 7/8" stamped panel onto the 2" embossed panel. I then adhere them to the center of my main embossed panel with Terrific Tape.

Next, I place a 1" strip of Vellum into my MISTI and prep it with my Anti Static Powder Bag. I then stamp a greeting from the Scripty Love Stamp Set using Versamark Ink then add Gold Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool. I add Terrific Tape to the ends of the vellum strip and line it up over the front of the panels. I then wrap the ends of the vellum around the panel and adhere to the back.

Using the biggest die from the Master Layouts 1 Die Set, I cut out of Slate Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot. Using my Versamark Ink pad, I run it down all four edges of the panel, add Silver Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool. I then use Terrific Tape and adhere my embossed panel to the embossed edge panel.

To finish, I place a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Slate Cardstock into my Scor Buddy and score at 4 1/4" creating a side folding card base. I add Foam Tape to the back of my panel and mount it onto the card base and this completes my card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card, I love how it turned out!! The metallic embossing powders against the slate cardstock really gives this image an elegant look. I love using slate cardstock for wedding cards, no matter the wedding colors it's always a good match! I hope everyone has a great weekend and finds some time to get a little crafting in! Shadow Stamping With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog!! ***I wanted to let everyone know that Scrapbook.com has kicked off Freebie February!! Every couple of days they will be offering free items along with great sales! Check often as the sales will be frequently changing. I have placed a store logo on the front page of my blog just down below my profile that brings you directly to their store!    *I know die cut machines can be a bigger investment, but if you are in need of one and looking for a good price, Scrapbook.com has some really good prices on Big Shots -  stand alone  machines and bundles.   Today's card project is similar to yesterday's blog post using the shadow stamping technique, but today, I will be using a stencil. I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
