Today, I have a very elegant wedding card... I needed a card for an upcoming wedding so I thought, let's go bold!! This card features lots of gold embossing paired against a teal cardstock which really gives this card a rich, elegant look. I went through all of my previously created alcohol inked panels and found one that is a perfect match to the cardstock! There is also a gold alloy alcohol ink used on this panel which ended up going nicely with the gold embossing. I love the swirls and leaves of this background stamp, it really gives an elegant look on it's own. Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start I place my Leafy Vine Stamp onto the door of my MISTI. I then add some Adhesive Dot Runner to the back of a 3 3/4" x 5" panel of Tranquil Teal Cardstock and place it face down against the stamp. Next, I close the base of my MISTI onto the door then flip it over. Now when I open the door the cardstock is temporarily adhered to the base and perfectly lined up with the stamp. I prep the panel with my Anti Static Powder Tool then stamp the image with Versamark Ink, add Gold Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.

Next, I take the largest die from the Stitched Scallop Rectangles Die Set and cut out of Tranquil Teal Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I love this die as you can use either of the die cuts separately or together... today I will be using them together. I then add Liquid Glue to the back of the smaller die cut frame and adhere it onto my embossed panel so it is centered around the edges. Next, I take the bigger die cut frame and press my Versamark Ink Pad onto it, add Gold Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool. I then add Liquid Glue to the back of the frame and adhere it around the smaller frame. I place a large acrylic block on top of the frames to hold them down until the glue sets.

Next, I place a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Tranquil Teal Cardstock into my Scor Buddy and score it at 4 1/4", creating a side folding card base. I add Liquid Glue to the back of my embossed panel and adhere it onto the card base, centering it around all of the edges.

I decided I wanted to add a little shading to the embossed image to create some depth, however my pieces are already glued into place. To protect my already mounted frame, I used the same die to cut another frame. I took the smaller, inside frame die cut and placed it over the mounted frame to protect it. Using my Blending Brush I first blend Peacock Feathers Distress Ink over the bottom left corner of the design and fade out as I went towards the top right. I then blend Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink starting at the bottom left and fade out towards the top right but not as far out as the previous color. I then took a dry cloth to buff the embossed areas to remove any ink. Once my blending was finished I removed and discarded the temporary frame. *In hindsight I should have did the ink blending before assembling the frame, but this ended up working out just fine.

I now take an alcohol Inked background that I had previously made from my stash. The colors that were used to create this piece were, Laguna Alcohol Ink, Slate Alcohol Ink and Gilded Alloy Alcohol Ink. Taking some of the solid flower and leaves dies from the Floral Doodles Die Set I cut out from my panel, running them through my Big Shot. *When using intricate dies I place a Metal Adaptor Plate under the bottom cutting plate of my die cut machine.

Using the coordinating outline dies from the Floral Doodles Die Set, I cut out of Tranquil Teal Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot. I then take the outline die cuts and press my Versamark Ink Pad over them, add Gold Embossing Powder then heat set with my Heat Tool.

I now adhere all of the gold embossed outline pieces onto the coordinating solid pieces using Liquid Glue.

Next, I now start adhering my die cut pieces onto the card front. I use Liquid Glue to adhere everything down with the exception of the largest flower. I add Foam Tape to the back of it and adhere it down overlapping the smaller flower a bit. I finish by gluing down all of the leaves.

I now choose a sentiment from the Sentiments Strips Union Of Love and trim it down to a thin strip using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer. I add a thin piece of Foam Tape to the first half of the strip and Liquid Glue to the second half then mount it onto my card front.

I use my Jewel Picker to add a few Clear Round Drops with Liquid Glue and this completes my card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. This card turned out great for a wedding, and would also be perfect for an anniversary card or any occasion. I also think the background stamped in just Versamark ink, leaving a watermark would look nice and maybe switching out the gold frame with some blended Chipped Sapphire ink... this color looks so beautiful against teal cardstock! I have a lot going on in the next couple of weeks with company coming to visit and our middle son getting married!! I will try and post a card or two if I can, but there is a chance I won't be posting anything at all for the next couple of weeks. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy spending time with family and friends!

Hello, welcome to my blog!! ***I wanted to let everyone know that Scrapbook.com has kicked off Freebie February!! Every couple of days they will be offering free items along with great sales! Check often as the sales will be frequently changing. I have placed a store logo on the front page of my blog just down below my profile that brings you directly to their store!    *I know die cut machines can be a bigger investment, but if you are in need of one and looking for a good price, Scrapbook.com has some really good prices on Big Shots -  stand alone  machines and bundles.   Today's card project is similar to yesterday's blog post using the shadow stamping technique, but today, I will be using a stencil. I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
