Gina K. Designs has a brand new release tonight and all of the new products are available on her site right now, you can click HERE to see the new items!! There are several new stamp sets, including a new kit as well as a new Master Layouts 5 die set! If you have never tried any of the Master Layout die sets, I highly encourage you to do so! These die sets so many different layering dies that cut perfect panels and layering pieces in each set. No more uneven cuts and measuring, these dies give you perfect layers every time! Today, I will be using the Beautiful Butterflies 2 stamp set which is similar to the popular original Beautiful Butterflies stamp set, except this set has beautiful floral details in each of the butterflies. There are also added elements such as flowers and leaves as well as sentiments. If you already own the dies from the original Beautiful Butterflies stamp set, they can also be used with the set I am using on today's card, which gives you more versatility with both stamp sets. I love the whimsical detail of Beautiful Butterflies 2. To showcase the detail, I chose to create a clean and simple card stamping my images in black ink over a blended background. I did some masking with my ink blend to create the illusion of the butterflies flying out from the corner of my card. All of the stamps, inks and cardstock I will be using are from Gina K. Designs. Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" out of Masking Magic using my Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimer. I then cut the masking piece in half diagonally from corner to corner. I place the two pieces over opposite corners of a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel of White Cardstock at an angle, trimming off all overhang.

I position my panel so that the opening of the masked area comes from the top right side of the panel. Using my Blending Brushes, I start my blending with Passionate Pink Ink and blend starting at the top right side of my panel, fading the ink out towards the center. I then blend Sweet Mango Ink and blend back into the previous color a bit then fade out towards where the the next color will be. For my final color I blend Wild Dandelion Ink blending back into the previous color a bit then fade out to white.

Now that my blending is complete, I keep the mask attached to the panel I place it into my MISTI Stamp Positioner. I choose a large image from the Beautiful Butterflies 2 Stamp Set and stamp it using Amalgam Obsidian Ink onto the center area of my blend.

Taking the smaller version stamp of the same butterfly from the Beautiful Butterflies 2 Stamp Set I line it up towards the top of my ink blend allowing it to hang off the panel a bit and stamp it with Amalgam Obsidian Ink. I stamp this same image over the yellow ink blend also using Amalgam Obsidian Ink. I love the bold black ink against these colors!!

To fill in some of the open space I choose three of the flower images from the Beautiful Butterflies 2 Stamp Set and stamp them with Amalgam Obsidian Ink allowing some of the images to hang off the blended area.

I allow the ink to dry for several minutes then carefully remove the masks. I then take the second largest die from the Master Layouts 1 Die Set and cut my panel down, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. *When using black ink I like to lay a piece of copy paper over the die and panel before running it through my die cut machine so that none of the ink transfers onto my cutting plate.

Next, I take the largest layering die from the Master Layouts 1 Die Set and cut a panel out of Black Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot. I then place a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Bubble Gum Pink Cardstock into my Scor Buddy and score it at 4 1/4" creating a side folding card base. Using Terrific Tape I adhere my blended panel onto the black panel. I then add Foam Tape to the back and adhere it onto the card base.

For a sentiment, I place a piece of White Cardstock into my MISTI and stamp a sentiment from the Beautiful Butterflies 2 Stamp Set using Amalgam Obsidian Ink. I let the sentiment dry for several minutes then use a banner die from the Master Layouts 2 Die Set to cut it out, running them through my Big Shot. I add Foam Tape to the back of the banner and mount it onto the front of the card.

To finish, I use my Jewel Picker and add some Dew Drops using Liquid Glue and this completes my card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. Though I left my images plain, they could also be colored to showcase the floral images more. I love the fact that the dies will coordinate with both of the Beautiful Butterflies stamp sets! Don't forget to check out the new release, Gina always has such beautiful items in her releases! I will have another card this week featuring the New Beginnings stamp set!

Shadow Stamping With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog!! ***I wanted to let everyone know that Scrapbook.com has kicked off Freebie February!! Every couple of days they will be offering free items along with great sales! Check often as the sales will be frequently changing. I have placed a store logo on the front page of my blog just down below my profile that brings you directly to their store!    *I know die cut machines can be a bigger investment, but if you are in need of one and looking for a good price, Scrapbook.com has some really good prices on Big Shots -  stand alone  machines and bundles.   Today's card project is similar to yesterday's blog post using the shadow stamping technique, but today, I will be using a stencil. I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

3D Peony Bundle Embossing Folder W/Oxide Inks

Hello, welcome to my blog!!  I want to start out by thanking everyone for the support and nice comments you all leave for me. I truly appreciate the support of this blog!! I enjoy card making and bringing my creations to you, this wouldn't be possible without your support, so again, thank you!! I'm back!!! For those of you that don't know, I took a couple of weeks off to spend some time with my brand new grand babies!! We were blessed with two more grandsons (who are cousins, their dads are brothers!) that were born only two days apart! We now have three grandsons and one granddaughter and feel so blessed!! Today I am using Distress Oxide inks to watercolor a 3D embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp. I was blown away by the detail of this embossing folder and knew right away that I wanted to watercolor something soft. Having all of these raised areas to color made watercoloring so simple and really took little effort. With all of the dimension of the 3D effect it is easy
