Hello, welcome to my blog!!

Thank you so much for your support, it is greatly appreciated!!

Today I have created a simple mini slimline card using the emboss resist technique. I wanted to create a soft subtle background for this card using the Stay Positive stamp set. This is a beautiful stamp set that includes a big water lily that would be so fun to color, but today I will be using it to create a background with some light ink blending. Also included in this stamp set is a large cluster of Delphinium (or Larkspur), a smaller water lily, a closeup Delphinium as well as sentiments and greetings. This set is illustrated by Hannah Drapinski for Gina K. Designs. Hannah has created a floral stamp set for each month of the year highlighting the birth flowers of each month and also includes the name of the moth stamp in each set. Theses sets would be perfect for creating a calendar for yourself or a gift for someone. I will also be using the new Master Layout 7 die set to create my mini slimline card and greeting. My greeting comes from the It's All You stamp set which is this month's free incentive set when you spend $75.00 before tax. I have also taken one of the new mini slimline envelopes and stamped it to coordinate with the card. All of the stamps, dies, cardstock and inks I use on today's card is from Gina K. Designs. Let's get started!!

I will be doing all of my work today on my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

To start I take the large stitched rectangle from the Master Layout 7 Die Set and cut out of White Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I then place the panel into my MISTI Stamp Positioner and prep it with my Anti Static Powder Bag. Next, I take the large floral image from the Stay Positive Stamp Set and place it partially over the top portion of the panel and stamp it with Versamark Ink. I then add White Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.

I place the panel back into my MISTI and stamp the same image partially over the left side with Versamark Ink, add White Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool. I again place the panel back into my MISTI, this time lining up the image at the bottom of the panel and stamp it with Versamark Ink. I then add White Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool.

For my last stamping I place the panel back into my MISTI and stamp the image onto the right side of the panel using Versamark Ink. I then add White Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool.

To add some soft color to my panel I take my Blending Brush and blend Ocean Mist Ink onto the center of each stamped image and fade the ink out towards the end of the petals. I then blend Sea Glass Ink onto the very center of each flower image. After my ink blending is complete I use a soft cloth to buff over the embossed areas, removing any excess ink.

Taking the large layering rectangle from the Master Layout 7 Die Set, I cut out of Kraft Cardstock, running them through my Big Shot. I then add Terrific Tape to the back of my blended panel and adhere it onto the kraft panel.

I wanted my panel to be mounted onto a coordinating card base, however I did not have any full sheets of cardstock in those colors. To remedy this I placed a 6 1/4" x 6 1/2" piece of White Cardstock into my Scor Buddy and scored it at 3 1/4" creating a slimline card base. I then cut a 3 1/4" x 6 1/4" (the same finished size as my card base) panel out of Ocean Mist Cardstock using my Guillotine Paper Trimmer. I then added Terrific Tape onto the back of my blended panel and mounted it onto the colored panel then mounted the panels flush onto the card base.

For my greeting I place a scrap piece of Ocean Mist Cardstock into my MISTI and stamp a greeting from the It's All You Stamp Set using Amalgam Obsidian Ink. I then take the stitched circle from the Master Layout 7 Die Set to cut out my greeting and take the layering circle die to cut out of Kraft Cardstock, running them all through my Big Shot. Using Liquid Glue I adhere the two die cuts together.

Next, I take the label die from the Master Layout 7 Die Set and cut out of Vellum, running them through my Big Shot. I then add Liquid Glue to the back of my greeting and adhere it onto the center of the Vellum label. Because adhesive normally shows through vellum, I add Liquid Glue behind the greeting and then onto just the very outside stitched edges of the label and mount it onto my card front, lining up the stitching. I press down over the greeting and both edges to adhere down. The great thing about the dies from this set is that all of the stitching on each die lines up with each other when layered, except for the circle. *A tip when using liquid glue on vellum, after applying the glue let it sit for a minute or two. This helps the glue to set just a bit and minimizes the oozing when pressing into place. ***After I had my greeting mounted, I decided I wanted a little more dimension. I ended up stamping another greeting, mounting it onto another kraft layer then gluing them on top of the previous greeting. You can see the dimension in the final photo.

I want to coordinate my envelope so I take a Mini Slimline Envelope and place it into my MISTI. I take the large flower from the Stay Positive Stamp Set and stamp it onto the lower corner of the envelope using Ocean Mist Ink.

Using my Jewel Picker I add some Dew Drops with Liquid Glue and this completes my card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. I was going for a soft look and using these soft blue inks were the perfect touch! I love the results ink blending over these floral images. The label die was the perfect backdrop to my greeting to balance it out so it didn't look like it was just floating. I plan on doing some coloring using the same image soon in the coming weeks!

Shadow Stamping With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog!! ***I wanted to let everyone know that Scrapbook.com has kicked off Freebie February!! Every couple of days they will be offering free items along with great sales! Check often as the sales will be frequently changing. I have placed a store logo on the front page of my blog just down below my profile that brings you directly to their store!    *I know die cut machines can be a bigger investment, but if you are in need of one and looking for a good price, Scrapbook.com has some really good prices on Big Shots -  stand alone  machines and bundles.   Today's card project is similar to yesterday's blog post using the shadow stamping technique, but today, I will be using a stencil. I will be using kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock. This is a fun technique to use on any color of cardstock. I wanted to show the look on a light colored cardstock vs a dark color. The key to using any color of cardstock is to first lay down white pigment ink follo

Embossing With Stencils

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today's card project focuses on heat embossing with stencils. Stencils are great for ink blending and are economical. Did you know you can also heat emboss with your stencils? I am showing an example of white heat embossing, but you could also ink blend your stencil then heat emboss with clear embossing powder, if you don't mind getting your embossing pad dirty. Some people have a clean embossing pad dedicated for embossing only, and another embossing pad that they use for different techniques that may get the pad dirty. Let's get started!! To start, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Neenah cardstock panel using my Tim Holtz Guillotine paper trimmer. I add Gina K. Designs Adhesive Dot Runner  to the corners on the back side of my white card panel to temporarily hold it down onto my Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat . Next, I prep my panel with my Anti Static powder bag. I then place my Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil
